Worked perfect for 1981 kz1000Make sure that the boot ends are secure on the wires. I had one pull out very easily and it was a pain to get it back in. Other than that still working great.

This made my 1983 Goldwing go faster and start easier. I had to fabricate a bracket so they would fit the way I wanted, and I used a different set of wires (Accel Super Stock 8mm) so I could re-use the original NGK resistor plug caps. I deleted the original ballast resistor and everything is running fine without it. Took a little trial and error matching the coil towers to the cylinders. Don't forget to gap your spark plugs out to .035 or you're not going to see much difference.A lot of people seem confused as to whether this is the right kit for the GL1100 since that bike has electronic ignition. The important distinction is that the 140403 kit is for inductive ignition systems and the 140404 kit is for capacitive discharge ignition (CDI) systems. Both the GL1000 and the GL1100 have inductive ignitions - the earlier models use points and the later models are electronically controlled. Just because a bike doesn't have points doesn't necessarily mean it has a CDI system.

Cheap, chinese garbage. Yes, chinese. That fact is hidden deep inside in the installation instructions. Zero miles before a failure. Didn't even get the gas tank installed. 4 ohms to infinity.

Had problems with buying used coils for my old motorcycle, just seemed like they were all crap. Whether it was a problem with my bike or just the coils, Accel coils fixed it. Not going to pretend I got any more power out of it, but they have been reliably sparking for about 3 years now.I deducted a star only because the installation seems needlessly fiddly. It's not difficult, but you'll need to be patient.

These coils are exactly as advertised. After installing them on my Gold Wing it had more power and torque. The only problem I had was with the wires, the spark plug caps were made for use on a plug with a cap on the end. My plugs did not have a cap on them. I had to purchase new plugs. The installation tools for installing the terminals on the wires are hard to use and the terminals are too small for the wires. Its like they were made for 8mm wires instead of the 8.8mm wires.

I fitted them to a 1977 Kawasaki Z650 after the stock coils began to struggle under full throttle. With the Accel coils, starting is quicker and it idles sans choke after a half mile instead of a full mile now. So performance is great.The installation instructions are not the best. I discarded the crude brackets that were in the box with the coils and opted to use the factory drilled holes in the core instead, which is how the stock coils are mounted. Spacing is longer than stock, and I had to drill new holes in the brackets on a frame. If Accel had some oblong spacers made instead of the brackets they supply, it would have been easy to mount using the stock holes in the frame. Coils are larger than stock and that must be taken into consideration when fitting them to prevent contact with the fuel tank.Getting the HT leads cut to length is easy if you are careful, but crimping on the contacts is a little PITA. Worse is to slide them into their rubber caps, which turned out to be a huge struggle. Once in place, though, getting the things hooked up was simple enough.For actual performance, it's a 5 star item. Instructions only deserve 2 stars, the delivered mounting brackets a single star and overall effort to fit everything 2 stars. Which average about 3 stars.

Once installed, this coil kit works very well. In my kit, two of the metal terminals were missing from the package, I called Accel and they sent out 2 replacements but it took a week to get them in. Not the best customer service since the original package only took 2 days and it kept me from riding that weekend. In any event, once installed everything is smooth and motorcycle is very responsive.

Have not put these in yet. But they are Accel Super Coils so I know they will be more than I need.
