I feel like you have to click through way more than should ...
We got this for my 2 year old daughter, who has become an absolute BEAR in the mornings. We thought an alarm that gradually wakes her up with sunlight and nature sounds might do the trick. It has definitely helped A LOT, but not a total solution bcs sometimes she still sleeps through it. Aside from my child's anti-morning issues, it's a decent alarm clock, especially for the price. I looked at other options and i just don't want to pay over $60 for a dang alarm clock.I will say i think this one is a bit on the cheap side, it feels kind of cheap too and the set up is in NO WAY intuitive. I've had it for a couple of months now and i still have to refer to the directions. I feel like you have to click through way more than should be necessary to set things up. Also, I'm having a hell of a time getting the little door off to insert batteries as back ups. Also, the one time i did unplug it, it took 5 minutes to turn back on when i plugged it back in. I thought it was broke, but thankfully finally worked. Also, the packaging it arrives in is somewhat unconventional, like it's not really packaged in a finished product box. But everything was there....If you're wanting a price efficient alarm with these functions, I'd recommend it but just with the warning that it feels cheaply made and takes a bit more patience in setting up and figurine gout how to set things.

Best invention ever for some, absolute hell for others.
So, not everyone likes getting woken up to a heart-attack every morning from sudden loud noises. This seems like a great solution in concept, but unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. The first thing to note is that there is a lot of options and settings, which really makes this a versatile alarm clock. I really liked the features that allow you to increase and decrease brightness, the variety of sounds you can wake up to, and the overall look of the clock. Now for the disappointing part: this clock establishes its purpose as a slow wake-up to light that increases like a sunrise. With those expectations in mind, you expect a gradual succession of light to slowly fill the room and gently ease you out of sleep about 30 minutes before your alarm. Now, this might just be from my perspective as a person who sleeps in total darkness, but the wake-up process is not gradual. It is shocking. The second the clock activates 60-30 minutes before your alarm, your room lights up like an overhead light turning on, and then the “gradual” increases create even more shocking increases in brightness every 5 minutes until the sun is practically on your room. So they got the sunrise part accurate, I guess. If you are like me, you were awake and annoyed the second the first light turned on, so really, this alarm clock is excellent for waking you up 30 minutes before your alarm. If you think you’re gonna get any sleep with that bright of a device across the room from you, think again. But, I am being a bit harsh on this clock. If you don’t like waking up to noise, I really recommend this clock. Waking up to light is also a lot gentler, even if it is REALLY bright light. The only downside is that it can prolong the waking-up process and turn it into a battle of trying to sleep with the sun in your room, which makes for an annoying start to the morning.Final note: This clock is probably the best invention ever for some people, and an absolute living hell for others (which is why I gave it three stars). It’s a great product, and if it sounds like something you’d like, I recommend giving it a try. But if going from total darkness to sudden bright light sounds more aggravating than 3 seconds of music before you slam your phone/clock to make it shut-up, then this is not the product for you.Bonus points if you want to stop snoozing your alarm and oversleeping. This definitely won’t let you!

Inexpensive, functional sunrise light wake up
I had a smaller round version of this clock, and this variation is much more user-friendly. I love the sunrise feature and wake feeling more refreshed. It is possible to turn off the sound if you prefer to use this just for the sunrise light wake-up. It takes some getting used to for programming, and locating the button to turn off the alarm in the morning is a little challenging. I would give 4.5 stars if I could for those annoyances, but for the price, this is worth it for the product description.

This wake up light works great for me
This wake up light works great for me! Just the right amount of light not to wake me up when it turns on but I definitely feel like it's easier to actually get up. One thing I wish is that the alarm sounds were different- there's only nature sounds, radio, and a very obnoxious beeping. If only the beeping was more like a phone alarm instead of a harsh screech. But no worries, I use it for the light more than the alarm since I set multiple alarms anyway. All in all great product and an amazing price alternative to the more name brand wake up lights. Quality is still great!!

While I love the idea of this light and the price was reasonable over the Phillips brand, I guess you get what you pay for. This light is terrible in every aspect. It's not easy to operate and set, the time display is so bright that it lights up my entire room and I can't sleep and the 'gradual' dawn light comes on all at once, full force, immediately. The only reason that I didn't return this after using it for a week is because my husband burned the box and all of the packaging before I could return it. I wouldn't recommend this light to anyone. Pay more for a better quality light and save yourself the frustration.

Cheap, but it works.
This works reliably and really isn't THAT complicated to set up. More of my complaint is that the first level of brightness when it turns on is still VERY bright. I was hoping it would start out pretty dim. It's also pretty cheaply designed and the cover if flimsy. But compared to spending $200 more on a higher end version... This one will do just fine.

Pass on this
I missed the return window on this item due to travel or I would have sent it right back. The unit is extremely cheap looking and feeling. I was hoping to have something that would blend in to decor, but this definitely detracts from it. Also I haven't been able to get it to work consistently so it's basically a costly, plastic paperweight.

Gradual sunrise doesn't seem to work.
I was able to get the various noises, or the radio to work, however I bought it for the silent gradual sunrise and that function does not seem to work. It comes on at full light. It pulses like it might be trying to get brighter, but starting at full brightness means it has nothing left to adjust.
