A MUST HAVE ITEM!!
This spanner is an absolute MUST HAVE tool for boaters. It's fully adjustable as far as the span and it has two different size pins (located on opposing sides of the tool) so it's pretty much a universal fit tool for opening your fuel filler caps, water tank, and holding tanks. I bought two, one stored port and one stored starboard.

It works as advertised and designed.
Well cast and assembled. Pins are tight in the bronze. The hinge is smooth with no slop. It gives that last bit of leverage needed to loosen sea strainer lids, etc.

Must have to remove strainer covers
I have used one of these for many years to remove the AC strainer cover to clear grass etc. on my 1999 SeaRay Sundancer 40 ft boat. Well, I sold my boat and left the tool for the new owner. Our new 2004 SeaRay Sedan Bridge boat also has Groco sea strainers, so I’m repurchasing another tool. This is the perfect tool for that job. I would definitely recommend and buy again.
