wasted on first flight
I am so angry right now. 250 bucks and now its useless after the first flight. It was not my first plane. I have mastered the p51 400mm from Amazon, and it flies like a dream. I took the time to make sure all the controls were set up correctly. I got the Spektrum dx6 transmitter. Took it out with max gusts of 10km/h. The rudder stuck right after take off and it crashed after 3-4 seconds. Readjusted and trimmed everything again. This time it crashed in 2-3 seconds and fractured the foam to an unfixable state in multiple pieces on a grassy ballfield. How can Eflite get away with such brittle foam?? In my learning stages I literally flew the Volantexrc mustang p51 into a metal football goal post - popped back on the propeller and away she went again. I feel like I have been robbed of a substantial chunk of money. Do not buy.

Great plane! Okay Using a Radiomaster transmitter
When you buy a Eflite plane you are buy up to a good standard. The optional leading edge slats come with the plane and I did install them. The plane comes assembled (other than the optional slats). Radiomaster transmitter: no bind plug needed. Safe or safe off should programmed on channel 5. (Actually it's Safe on and AS3X on). I used a slider for the flaps and mixed-in 35% down elevator for full flaps. Don't think I will be using any more than 50% flaps. I have already maidened the plane (flying great with some minor trim adjustments needed). Mechanically adjusted the elevator for 1mm down elevator a little bit more than a eyeball level when looking at the elevator surface. Binding was a snap: DMX and then set to auto before binding (on the radiomaster). Bought two 300mah batteries and get about 6minutes flight time I got the lipo battery that has the balance plug, Eflite ph2.0 connector and also has a jst plug as well (this makes it a little bit more versatile). Ordered a 450mah to test flight times: this is a very light plane, so every gram you add weighs down the plane, and produces less flight time.. so be careful of this tradeoff! As always center of gravity is extremely important so balance you plane with battery positioning!!!PS: loving this plane (it's my second plane (first was an Eflite Apprentice). Don't recommend this for your first plane!!!!!!
