Pros:● Rated at 2 tons, it does get the job done for medium duty lifting and pulling● Easy to use, to some degree. Connect each end/hooks to something and start pulling/cranking the handle, back and forth.Cons:● The cable, states 12 foot cable. When you consider that the cable loops back through the hook and pulley on one end and wraps around the crank in the main mechanism, you only have about five (5) feet of pulling distance.● There is no way to set this puller up to use just a single line of cable.● Not easy to release. You must put tension on the handle with one hand and flip the release lever with your other hand, without letting it jurk. Release tension or let out one crank of the handle. Then flip the locking lever back into place and repeat. This process might need two people to do it safely. One controlling the cranking handle and one person flipping the locking lever open and back to lock position.It did the job I bought it for and several other smaller jobs. So even with the cons, it was worth the money for me.

Worked fine but needs a longer cable

To be honest, we didn't have high hopes for these. We were desperate. Our 21' RV was stuck in mud at the end of our driveway (yes, we are calling today to get our driveway extended!) and there was nothing we could do to get it out. Everything we tried seemed to make it worse. We ordered these, thankfully they shipped overnight, and all I can say is WOW!!! This was money well spent! My husband lined them up under the tires, gave the engine a gentle "go" and we were out of the mud in a flash. The tires didn't spin, they just rolled right over. The mats are still intact. They will be put in the RV in case this ever happens while we are out camping. A must have!

Couldn't unreel the cable all the way because it was overlapped against itself on the spool. After that, I couldn't reel the excess cable back onto to the spool. Yes, I read the instructions, and I know how these things are supposed to work. Not user error. Then when I went to put it back into its case I couldn't do that either because of the excess cable sticking out, and the case is very tight and overly clever to fit everything just right.

Became unusable when it was over stressed, had to purchase a larger one somewhere else.

A little tricky to use, loosening it took a little thinking, reading and interpretation. Manual isn’t good. Works very well.
