Unable to answer your exact question. To me it is like super duty Saran wrap. Some sellers may have superior to others (?) My experience with the display holders is that you need to have a holder that is close to the display item so that it is rigid enough to hold that particular display item. Silver dollars are heavy and relatively thin and they did not stay in position but slipped down. However, they hold badges well but make sure about "exact" size so the plastic case has room to snap together. If there is a little bit of play in the "Pet" membrane you can tighten it with a hair dryer. They are inexpensive so I would order a couple of different sizes and see if they work for you. Could these be hung on a wall?

It does not come for hanging on the wall. However, I believe if you are handy and crafty you could adapt it to hang it on the wall. There is enough room to do this. But the reason for this kind of frame is so that you could see both sides of the item. At least that was my reason for purchasing it. Good luck. Sonia

Will it hold a 3/4 inch thick item?

AS LONG AS WHAT IS DISPLAYED IS NOT 4" SQUARE YOU SHOULD BE OK. WE DISPLAYED METAL THAT WAS 2.75" DIA AND FULL 0.8" THICK. NO PROBLEM
