Workers well on my pipe iron gate. I live in the tropics so I hope it holds up in our strong UV

I bought it to latch my dog run gate. The installation was pretty easy, the gap adjustment worked well, and it latches with a satisfying click.Liked the first one so much that I just bought a second one for the main gate.I guess I'll see how often they freeze up in the winter.Edit: After most of a Minnesota winter, albeit an uncommonly warm one, I haven't had any issues with the latch freezing up. We've had snow, freezing rain, -15F temps, and the latch has worked flawlessly through it all.

The instructions could be better. After installation, the latch works great. I tried to get more duplicate keys st Lowes. The blank looks simple like many on the market; however, it's not! It's a bit longer. I couldn't find an exact match. I did try with a blank that's an exact match except it's a little shorter. It wouldn't work. I'll probably have to go to a locksmith to get a duplicate.

We have has our pool and gate for 10 years. This is a great latch. Our second one. Our dog is 22 pounds and breaks them by throwing his whole weight chasing birds, cats, motorcycles, dogs, UPS and FedEx trucks. Pretty much anything that goes by. So, the latch is great. Our dog wears them out!

We've bought a few locks from this brand, and they've been the most reliable, but definitely have their fair share of problems. Despite being unlocked, sometimes it is hard to pull up to open the gate, and the plastic wears out every couple years and needs to be replaced.

Installation a bit tricky. Suggest taping parts to post and gate before drilling to make sure they all line up. You may also need to raise or lower the gate brackets to ensure proper alignment. Closes with a very satisfying click if done right. Used a spare heavy duty spring to make the gate self closing.

Our fault for ordering the wrong model initially but they were great with the return, and the replacement was easy to install and worked great. This was for a pool and the gate passed inspection w/no issues.

I love the design of this latch. It is super easy to use even one handed. The handle is in a convenient place. Seems to have a sturdy construction and will hold up well. Looks nice as well. Operating it is simple and straightforward. If new people visit its operation is very intuitive.My only complaint is it seems susceptible to water getting into the mechanism and then freezing causing the lock/latch to stick. Twice now after a rain/snow event followed by extremely cold weather the lock froze. Once in the latched position and once in the unlatched position. To resolve the problem I need to take a hairdryer to warm and dry it. I would suggest thinking about a different lock if yours will be directly exposed to harsh cold and freezing snow/rain.
