Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken

I had seen the jumping horses at Atlantic City, NJ when I was younger. This movie brought back memories of good times with my parents. My daughter watched the movie & absolutely loved it.

I rarely write reviews, but this one is special to me. This movie was shown to my class when I was in middle school twenty something years ago, and it has been a great favorite of mine ever since. I waited for years to be able to purchase the book written by Sonora Carver, "A Girl and Five Brave Horses". It was out of print for a long time; used copies used to be over $100. Finally it was re-printed in paper back at an affordable price. The book is very different from the movie, however it is true that she went blind and continued to dive blind for years, and she did marry Al.When I was in my late twenties, I had some partial vision loss due to leaking blood vessels in my eyes that caused scarring (a rare condition at such a young age). Thank God, I was extremely lucky that the treatment stopped the bleeding in time to preserve the majority of my vision, and I can still live a normal life. But during those first uncertain months of testing and treatment, this movie of course came to my mind, and it was helpful to know that vision loss or blindness doesn't have to mean your life is over. I suppose it was that experience that cemented this movie as an all time favorite for me, because I still watch it occasionally, and love it, after all these years. A touching, feel good movie with a happy ending, and family friendly.

I watched this movie a long time ago. One day I decided to try to find a copy of it. It was a perfect throw back to my childhood memories of watching it.

I did not understand any of this film it was really confusing. What is a diving horse it does not make sense only watched it for three quarters of an hour and that was more than enough. Another film for charity shop. Waste of money

Pretty Gabrielle Anwar (whatever became of her?) plays true life character Sonora Webster Carver, a young girl who runs away from home to join a travelling carnival. She is soon jumping horses off a 40-foot platform into a small pool of water. Death defying, no doubt, and soon an accident leaves her handicapped for life. But Sonora is determined to go on.Another feel good movie from the Disney stables, may not be among its best, but definietly worth watching with the family.By the way, the real life Sonora died in 2003 at age 99.

Absolutely brilliant film! It was a childhood favourite of mine and I still love it now! As does my 7 year old Son and 5 year old Daughter. A brilliant story of courage, love and hope. Truly heartwarming.

special memories of watching this as a little girl and now watching with my childrentruly gripping

This was very well liked by my 9 year old granddaughter. The story was exciting in parts and very touching at times and had a happy ending.
