Good but sometimes goes crazy
This is my second Omron pedometer. My first was an older model no longer available, which worked perfectly until I lost it. This one is good too but frustratingly, someone's it will go crazy, jumping from, say, 2,000 steps to 20,000 with no good reason I may have got a defective unit.Did it again... Jumped from 1000 to 9000. As much as this might stroke my ego :-) I would prefer a correct count. Maybe I just have a defective unit. I'll try a different model by the same brand.I figured it out! There is a thing I do sometimes, moving my legs when I'm working at the computer, that gets counted as steps. That didn't happen with other brands, but I've made it happen with two kinds of Omron now. Now that I know, I can just "not do it".This pedometer (EB model) has a very useful activity mode that so far I've only seen on my old Fitbit. And I like the design of the display in this one, and the shape factor, better than the other Omron models.

Best pedometer ever.
My 1st Omron pedometer was bought at my pharmacy. It's basic and it's what I like for me. A few months ago I couldn't find my Omron pedometer anywhere. I couldn't find it and so I ordered another. This one. I couldn't believe it! I had washed the pedometer throughout all the cycles in my washing machine. It still had the rubber protector around it. I'm thinking it's ruined. I was wrong. I thought that I would try it to see if it would work. Lo and behold, it is still working and I put the new one away until the old one doesn't work anymore. This is a very good product and I recommend it.

Speak English!!
First I have to tell you this is my second Omron pedemoter. The first one laster a long time 6 years. It also came with much easier instrution, in English,. Some of the instructions are in English. Also there are kilograms verses pounds. I finally figured out how to get to the steps. That is what I wanted in the first place. I hope this one last as long. But instructions are terrible. A mixture of xeveral languages on the same page. Won't buy another one.

nothing,i wear it everyday

No instruction booklet.
It works fine but didn't come with instructions so you have to go online to look for how to program it in English. They should include a small booklet.

Clock function uses 24 hour standard
The clock function works on a 24 hour cycle, not US 12 hour. When purchasing there was no way to identify the pedometer was made in the Netherlands and not designed for US.

In Kombination sehr toll.

New and improved for dinosaurs and the dedicated fitness follower alike!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I've been using an earlier Omron pedometer, the 3, for some time now, to check I am stepping out enough. So I was delighted to see that the Omron IV was an update with some useful features, hence it is getting the big toes up from me, 5 toe ratings, in fact. There are two great additions, (and some more minor ones) one surprising, one less soThe surprise, for a new improved, is that oh JOY it caters for the fogies who can't adjust to a metric measurement world. I know my height and weight in the old feet and inches and imperial systems. Can I remember my height and weight in metric. No. And distance is firmly in miles in my head. Now this new Omron offers the choice of metric or the other, for height, weight, stride length and distance travel. Well hurrah! Finally I can pace out an exact mile for running purposes, as opposed to an approximate because the Omron 3 doesn't do enough decimal placements for exact on the km.Even better - the update observes the fact that more and more people are doing aerobic stuff, and might want to know how much/many of their distance and steps was aerobic work, as opposed, perhaps, to lots of small steps taken every 30 minutes or so between the PC and the biscuit tin! You don't have to adjust or set anything for this, your happy little ped will automatically measure more than 60 steps a minute as aerobic, and/or continuous movement for more than 10 minutes as the same. In fact, as it DOESN'T count the first 4 seconds of movement as `steps', if your only activity is the walk between PC and biscuit tin and it takes under 4 secs to reach that tin - your steps won't be counted. It's a slightly brisk coach saying `come on, more movement, for longer, please!'Although NOT shown in the illustration this does also come with a lanyard and clip, the holes for which are discreetly recessed on the back and side, rather than a projection on the top. The strap is black (doesn't show the dirt from sweaty post-run fingers!)It's a tad bigger than the Omron 3. Battery is included, so its all ready to be programmed by you. Replacement batteries are the commonly available CR2032 `coin cell' ones. How to use is pretty easy, though the multilanguage instruction sheets which come in the box are not particularly helpful. Best advice is to look on Omron's site. I'll put the link in the comments box as Amazon nix links to other sites within reviews. The ONLINE manual you can download is great, in English (I'm sure other versions exist) and usefully pictorial as well as text descriptions.I was pleased to also see that should you need to alter some of the basic stuff - eg time, height, weight, stride length, unit of measurement, this is MUCH easier than the III which needed a reset with a sharp and pokey paperclip end into a recess on the back. Here, it's a matter of pressing and holding the up and down symbol buttons for a few seconds together, and then scrolling through the revealed menus.Another nifty little advantage of this new one is not only the aerobic steps counter, which happens automatically, but its possible to separate out various aerobic activities on a start stop - this could obviously be useful if you want to measure `how many steps does it take me to walk very fast to the biscuit tin if I place it somewhere which is more than 4 seconds away'OK, time for some high stepping best foot forward stuff!

quality, accurately measuring the number of steps, good price
All opinions related to the high complexity of the menu are completely wrong. In fact the situation is quite the opposite, it takes a maximum of 2 minutes to set this device. It is probably one of the most intuitive menu, if I really need to elaborate on this, lol. If you can not set an alarm clock, bathroom scale, microwave, whatever, if you can not delete a document on your desktop because it is a terrifying experience for you, then yes, you can say that to decipher these simple instructions is a very difficult experience. I posted this review, because I often decide to buy something from Amazon depending on others reviews...

Would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't want an "all dancing with ...
Now that I have managed to get it working this gadget is exactly what I was hoping for. Very basic instructions in picture form and many languages that don't seem to be in the correct order, but suspect they were lost in translation.. Went onto the Omron site and found the instructions just in English and was able to set up the pedometer successfully. Would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't want an "all dancing with bells on" gadget. Am 73years old and my brain is now full up with technical data but still want to keep fit.
