Great Product!
I'm not made of money & I've always wanted to try a tablet but didn't want to pay 400$ for something I wouldn't know how it worked, that's when I bought the "Genius MousePen 8 x 6-Inch Graphic Tablet for Home and Office." I fell in love with that tablet & used it every week until the surface started scratching & wires started to tear. When that happened, I wanted to buy something newer, lighter & larger but still the Genius brand since I have NO problems with it. After receiving this product I fell in love with it, it's so much bigger & I was surprised to find more options with it, there's no need for me to even whip out my keyboard. With my Vista, the Tablet has its own built in keyboard you can use with the pen, it came with its own plastic cover flap so as not to scratch the surface and another cover for the entire tablet. I discovered I had to press a bit harder to work with the pen, got use to it.I really don't know why people are saying this product isn't that great, sure I'm not a professional artist, but I can create full out detailed inked & colored drawings using an old version of Photoshop with this thing in a matter of hours from start to finish. I recommend this product for those who aren't wanting to pay that hefty price. In fact, with using "only" this product, I've gotten e-mails from art galleries wanting me to bring some of my pieces to their art exhibitions, yet I'm reading other reviews saying this tablet isn't so-so as a profesional product. I don't see what the problem is and I highly recommend this product!

Using it on a new iMac
I am a working cartoonist who needed to buy a new graphics tablet because I just upgraded my home system from my workhorse Win98 PC to a new iMac. After doing some research, I realized an entry-level Wacom Bamboo was too small and might not be a good match with a widescreen iMac. The higher professional level Wacoms, however, seemed too pricey, esp. since I had done fine previously for nearly a decade with a 4x5 Aiptek tablet connected to my PC.After doing some research I decided to try the Genius G-PEN F610 since it was priced under $100 at the time of purchase. I just received it today. It is working fine on the desktop and within Photoshop, and I am already getting great output and linework with no lag. (Up until now, I primarily used the tablet for coloring, not for drawing. The larger space of this tablet, however, sure seems roomy and more accommodating for drawing, so I may explore this more.)HERE IS THE ONE WORD OF WARNING THOUGH FOR MAC USERS WITH NEWER SYSTEMS: BE SURE TO INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION OF THE MAC DRIVER FROM THE GENIUSNET.COM WEBSITE (version 1.72 of the Mac OS X driver). The version that came on the CD with the product was v 1.68--it did not install properly (I couldn't even open the configuration software for the pad), and made the pen virtually useless within Photoshop in that it was skipping and not giving me a smooth line. Fortunately, I explored online and found a more up to date driver that worked with my Mac OS 10.5.6 system and which immediately corrected the problem. So I'm pleased to report I'm very pleased with tablet and won't need to return it!!

Good pen tablet for the money
I bought this pen table as a gift , it is a good value for your money , it was installed in a mac snow leopard , it works really good, use the drivers from the CD , they are newer than the one in genius' website, or compare them before install it and install the latest .The tablet size is good , the pen requires a AAA battery ( included ) , it is not heavy at all, it is really thin, a little bit bulky , so make sure you have a desk with enough room for you laptop or keyboard , mouse and the new tablet. It works seamlessly with any programs, the pen works as a mouse as well , it is been used for Adobe products.

Would rate a negative 5 if possible
Don't buy this.Buy a Wacom instead.Don't buy this! The programmable edges and size of the tablet are a lure. They are not worth the hassle and lack of actual functionality. The first one I bought had to be returned because it doesn't work. I've had the second one (yes, I'm a fool for not getting my money back) for a few months and it has developed dead spots.Don't buy this!It is slow and not very responsive and jumps around.Don't buy this! The hotkeys around the edges are too sensitive. If you get close to the inner edge they snap the pen to them. The box for them is like 1cm x 2cm so you have plenty of room that you could move into, but that's not how they work it.Don't buy this!I dusted it off tonight to give it another try and was sorely disappointed.I tried to use the pressure sensitivity features in Photoshop CS5 and they wouldn't work.So I naturally went to get the most up-to-date driver from Genius. After navigating their slow site I got a drive that was released this year. The new settings dialogue confirmed that all was well and pressure sensitivity was spot on.I loaded up Photoshop and the pen stopped working... Mouse was OK...I close Photoshop and the pen works again... it doesn't remember the settings I just applied, but it works.I try a reboot... same thing. How does this company exist when the number one use for a tablet is completely not functional in their product. They should be ashamed.Don't buy it.Don't.Please don't.

Genius F610 tablet and pen
I had to replace my previous F610 tablet as I dropped and broke the pen. As there didn't seem to be the option of just replacing the pen, I went for both tablet and pen. The price from Amazon was far less than I paid previously.

Cracking tablet
Bought this for photo editing work and it's great.Worked without need to install drivers on Mac and Linux, but if you do install the driver, you get a couple of extras that can make your life easier.Very accurate. Nice.

A nice size and reasonable response
The widescreen aspect ratio of this tablet matches my monitor quite well. A good response on the pen pressure. I found the button areas on three sides of the drawing area to be a bit of a distraction, but that is a personal workflow opinion. The action of the pen on the surface is reasonably smooth; not up to the professional kit but certainly good enough for amateur/hobbyist use.If you are like me and buy things with the extra hope that they will work under Linux, then avoid this. It is purely a Windows tablet and despite Linux responding to all the signals, Genius won't go the extra mile and write the driver ... I've already asked them ... which is a shame as this is a nice product and responds well under Windows.
