Performance Tool W80277 10-Piece SAE & MetricT-Handle Allen Wrench Set, Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set

We have a number of sets of Allen T wrenches but sometimes don't have the right size when we need it. I decided to buy another set of mixed metric and SAE sizes to have on hand. I'm glad I did. This is a nice set with the most often needed sizes. I've gotten a lot of use out of it. It was on sale when I bought it but it is a good value at its regular price.

It does what it's supposed to and they threw in a stand, if that matters to you. No complaints.

These aren't what I would call "fine quality tools" by any stretch, but for an occasional light use set they get the job done. The handles are ok, they just don't exude quality. There are some poorly cleaned up molding seams, and I doubt they would hold up to abuse like trying to apply extra leverage for stuck bolts. Some of the smaller shafts are a little bit bent or warped, but it doesn't really affect their usability. I like that they come with a metal stand, however it's kind of a confused design. It has keyhole slots for hanging, but if you tried to hang it on a wall, the wrenches would be horizontal, and therefore easy to knock out. (first photo) Further, the printing that indicates the size would be facing straight down and impossible to read unless you are on the floor. You could probably make it work, but it just doesn't seem very well thought out. Maybe the idea is to bolt it to a table top? It would have been better if they had made the stand a little wider and put the slots on the side so you could easily bolt it to the wall and still be able to read the sizes while having the wrenches much more secure. What I will probably end up doing is making a spacer block from wood and drill some holes through the metal to mount it. Seems silly when a slightly different design could have made it unnecessary. Overall though, I think they are a good value for the money. I'm going to be using them for light duty applications, so they are good enough for that purpose. Update: Thought I would give an update a year and a half later. As suggested in my original review, I ended up fabricating a way to mount it to the wall. Rather than a wood spacer, I designed and 3D-printed a mount that clips in to the pegboard and uses the existing mounting holes in the wrench stand. Works great, and if I need to relocate it it's easy to move. (see photo) The wrenches themselves are holding up fine. These are probably the most used set I have now mainly because I have them in a convenient location.

This product is worth every penny. I need a set because my key set does work very well in tight places. This set is just what I needed.

Got it so I can adjust Allen sockets on my guitar better than the L shaped one. The grip makes it much easier to hold & control. Love the holder as well. Great for organization.

I purchased this set to use for the many things in my home, one of them being my 3D printer. There is a good variety of sizes and I really like the T handle to use as it is more ergonomic to use. I don't have this mounted although it is set up to be mounted, but I keep it in the box in a room close to my 3D printer. It is long enough to allow getting into tight places and it is a pleasure to use. The price on this was very competitive as well. I would recommend this product.

These have been an every day use wrench for 2 months now. I bought these as they span the range of sizes I need better than other sets in a similar price range. Coworker of mine bought the Pittsburgh brand from HF around d the same time. The HF brand looks better and has more features, and surprisingly, still works. These wrenches completely stripped out within 6 weeks. I’m very aware of the torque I’m applying to my wrenches, and it was very disappointing to see them strip so easily. I’ve had a set of smaller handled Wiha’s that I’ve been using for 4 years with no problems, yet these failed within weeks. Fit and finish is bad too. I had to take the handles to the buffing wheel to get rid of the huge seam that cuts into your skin. If you’re an everyday user of these types of wrenches, drop the money on a premium set. If you are just an occasional user, go order from harbor freight, they’re better and cheaper.

Junk. Strip out the T25 with a mildly tight fastener first time using it.
