Season 3, Episode 6 - This wonderful Musical Variety aired live once per month and was hosted by Mr. William Lundigan. There were occasional plays and lots of music and skits. The most familiar face on the Shower of Stars was Jack Benny who appeared in several shows, including this one from March 14, 1957.

The Showers Are Raining Stars and a Storm Named Gale
A fun series from days gone by. It was great to see and hear Gale Storm as well as Hedy Lamar, Jack Benny and a young Lawrence Welk. The show was sponsored by the Chrysler Corporation. You just don't see shows like this today. Besides, Jack Benny is one of the greatest comedians ever to grace our stages/screens.

Another episode PLEASE!
I wish they had more episodes. Specifically, April 12 1956. Frankie Laine with Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers as musical guests.

Live TV
Nice sample of what the shows were like in the heyday of "Variety" tv. Most of those shows were done live - which is why the musical numbers are spread out. Giving the people in the next sketch time to get ready and the stagehands time to ready the set.

JACK BENNY AND GALE STORM
These two television stars together remind me of Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca.

Even then our stars honored our troops
Again, we see that the stars of the time gathered on film to honor the men and women serving our country during the holiday season.

Good to See Her Again
It was good to see a Gale Storm perform after so many years. She was a great actress and quite a beauty.

LOVE THE 1950'S
Love these trips back in time. Keep them coming. We will never see this type of talent again. Who knew that the 1950's would be one of the last decades of quality TV programs?
