The large windscreen does a good job of keeping out the wind directly in the mix sound, yet allowing other sounds to be recorded with no muffling or anything. The remote is very helpful, as you can play, record and select the track to record to all from the remote. It make no button click sounds when pressed, yet still has that button pushed feel to it so you know you pushed a button. Very helpful for when you have the recorder on a tripod at an angle where pushing the record button isn't as easy. The cord from the remote is very thin and I'm worried it might come out of the remote scince there isn't really a reinforcement like there is on the jack end.

The USB charger is a throw-away item. You probably have a dozen of these sitting around already and this one is too weak to charge your phone or tablet. If you want USB power, you'll probably be using the cable that came with it and a PC anyway. If there's no PC available, you may find the USB cable is too short to be of much use on location. The wind filter looks professional and eccentric at the same time. I had to brush mine out a bit to remove the loose fur and straighten it out. After all that, I found that it actually produces more side-noise than the regular foam head that came with the recorder. The volume of the fur is a lot greater than the foam, so you're much more likely to brush up against it. Be careful around it and you'll be fine. The remote is the whole reason to buy this kit. If you are recording with the built-in mics, this remote (and its included extension cord) are the perfect thing to control all of the buttons without having to touch the H5 itself. This eliminates the potentially annoying sounds of fumbling and button pressing while recording.

Great itema, I was hesitant at first, but it is worth it. The remote control is very handy, and the "dead cat" muddler is also very good. It comes all nicely packaged by Zoom. My H5 is just a great recorder, I could not be happier, so this kit is a nice complement.

Would be nice if the remote was wireless, but this would also make it more money, and since the wire is long enough to use it while standing comfortably away from the recorder when mounted on the end of a tall boom, etc, then it's fine. It works well, and you have all the buttons you need to operate the recorder without touching it. Good purchase. The fuzzy cover works too; has elastic to keep it on the recorder.

The remote does not work with the Zoom H5 recorder so what needs to be done with it? All other items work but the remote.

Price is high for this accessories. There should have been a memory card included instead of same cable again from the 'zoom H5 recorder

Worth the money. Fits perfectly on the mic and does the job. A must for any outdoors recordings. The remote is pretty handy too and has all the important controls although I still haven’t got to use it.

Good stuff, necessary, esp the Cat for shooting outdoors. AC a must, remote useful as are all items incl.

From what I used so far, it is doing its job very well. Interface is not as intuitive as an apple product, but ehen you figure out, it does the job. Soon I will be testing using it as an audio interface for my guitar in my iPad. That is the reason I picked this model, but didn’t have a chance to try yet. This is a solid product. Would be great having a touch screen.
