Finally a theory book that can be understood.
I really like the way this book makes it easier to understand theory. It really has impacted my playing in learning music faster and writing my own solos.

Doesn't live up to the title
I was really excited about this book based on the title and description. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its title and misses by a long shot. Note that all the 5 star reviews are from the UK where she is based (fellow musicians?).I've been playing guitar and taking lessons on and off for over 50 years. Yes I know all the strings, notes on frets, Barre cords, etc. But I'm lacking in music theory and scales and want to fill that theory void. This book is not "Easy Peasy" as the title suggests, it's very disjointed in presentation, lacking adequate illustrations and much simpler explanations. She obviously knows her stuff, but hasn't figured out how to simplify guitar theory for someone who's not at her advanced level or playing ability. Her website referenced in the book is also disappointing. Yes it has "some" content, but mostly links to other sites (so they can sell you stuff). Her lesson section is about selling you personal lessons. Her "special" link are audio tracks of her playing. She should do herself a favor and post some quality videos of her demostrating/explaining what she is trying to unsuccessfully cover in this book.I really wanted to like this book, but can only give it 1 star. It's a great concept, but poorly executed.

Very well written and organized
Lots of material that I didn't expect to find in a beginners book. Well organized. I use it along with another course that I am using as they complement each other very well.

Great intro to all the essential theory
Covers a lot of ground, in clear friendly language with lots of useful illustrations. Ideal for beginners, or people (like me) who kind of grasp much of the theory, but have a few gaps to fill in. I particularly liked that Tiff focuses on the topics which have the most immediate practical use (eg. CAGED system, pentatonic scales) and leaves out some more complex stuff (like modes) in the name of sticking to the basics.

At last a book that does what it says on the tin - brilliant!!
At last a book that is designed for new and improving guitarists, that explains guitar theory in a fun and easy to understand way. There are lots of tips and tricks and useful links included free too!I have bought so many guitar music books over the years and this is the only one that had me hooked from the first page, I learnt and understood more in an hour of reading this book than I had in many years of studying other books. The book is obviously written by someone that fully understands what it takes to be a great player, gets the problems that aspiring players come across and helps you to overcome the hurdles. Thank you Tiff I can’t wait for the next in the series.

If you want to make genuine progress in your guitar playing ability this book is for you
This book is simply outstanding if you want to improve your guitar playing ability and understanding of what it takes to improve,. This is the best book I've ever found and in a straightforward and down to earth style has helped me to break through that frustrating 'ceiling' I kept hitting in my own playing ability. It's thorough but clear in its explanations and along with the simple diagrams, help to clear up so many of the unanswered questions I had - there is a lot in here to support players of different standards too. This book shows that learning Music Theory doesn't have to be daunting but actually enjoyable. Definitely recommend.
