My apple remote even when new was badly designed and hard to use. The glass screen (Why on a remote????) broke and was shedding glass so I plumped for this.This one works fine and does everything I need.No additional bells and whistles. Just a plain old remote that is still working fine 3 months later.

Its not good and not bad but yes its better than the original apple remote this one is longer and better when u hold and and touch it it doesn’t slip off like the apple one

It’s a great replacement for your Apple TV remote that you lost down the back of your sofa, it works straight out of the box, well you have to put batteries in first but you know what I mean, but anyway I would definitely recommend it and I would buy it again if I ever lost the remote again.

It does work right out of the box once i put batterys in it. I bought for my Apple TV HD 4th Gen.It worked right away but there is a slight lag with the buttons and it has to be pointing at my ATV box to work. It sucks not being able to control volume and the menu button is the retun button on original ATV remote so i have no idea how to force close an app if it crashes.Its only £9 compared to the offical ATV remote so i can't complain too much as it does work. If this was my main ATV i would buy the offical remote but as this is only in my games room i wont use the ATV very often and thats why i didnt want to buy an offical.This remote would annoy me if it was for my main ATV and i couldn't recommend for a main ATV.

Initially the control did not work for my 3rd generation model (A1469). The white light on the Apple TV unit flashed every time I pressed the buttons on the remote, but nothing would happen other than that. I connected my Apple TV unit to my laptop via a USB-c and reset the unit via iCloud. After the reset, the control connected immediately by pressing the menu button. Nice controller and seems well built.

I really wanted to like this remote as the layout and number of programmable buttons was just what I was looking for.But if I said this feels cheap and you get what you pay for... it would just be me being polite.For the first two buttons, it took at least 3 attempts to program, in the end I gave up on trying for the third button when after 5 or 6 attempts it didn't sync. Then I discovered that the two buttons that I managed to program needed to be pressed multiple times for the signal to register. It would be quicker getting up and walk across the room than pressing these buttons.The case feels lightweight quality and the buttons are not reponsive enough.Returned.

This item is better than the original metal type of which we bought two, neither was very reliable. This model works straight out the box & each button has a positive feel when pressed. Batteries are big standard, not the fiddly watch batteries fitted to original. All round a good product.
