This may not be the fix to Windows 10 that you are looking for.
This product was easy to install and, as far as I can tell, functions exactly as intended. I'm not a super tech guy so I cannot speak to the speed or any other specs but I do know that you shouldn't pay a computer place a bunch of money to replace this as it was a very simple project. Shipping was quick and is relatively inexpensive so I give it 5 stars. I recommend this product IF you are sure that a new network adapter is what you need. I'm writing this review more as a warning that this product may not resolve your internet connection problem for Windows 10. This is no fault of the product or manufacturer as nowhere do they claim the product to be Windows 10 compatible.I have a higher end Dell desktop that is probably 6 years old or so but has upgraded memory and runs very well on Windows 7, 64-bit and I have wired internet connection. I also own a new laptop that runs Windows 10 and enjoy it very much so I decided to upgrade the desktop to Windows 10 as well. The upgrade was free and virtually seamless. The only issue I encountered after the upgrade was not being able to connect to the internet at all. I opened the settings for Network and Internet and ran the diagnostic. I received a message that said, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Ethernet network adapter." I spent a couple hours uninstalling the device and its driver, reinstalling, restarting, and reading several blogs and threads with various suggestions. I noticed that many people out there complained about the same thing but never found a definitive answer.I eventually went out and bought a new network adapter. Again, this one was Windows 8 compatible and the guy at the store said it "should" work with Windows 10. It didn't. I got the same error message so I returned it and began my search on Amazon. I found this product and was sure to read several reviews in which it worked fine with Windows 10 for many people. As I said, it took me more time to shut down my computer and unplug all the cables than it did to actually install the adapter. Unfortunately, nothing changed. I still received the same error messages. I spent another couple hours doing all the same troubleshooting steps recommended by both Microsoft, as well as several other computer tech threads. I am convinced the driver is not the issue. After 3 days of no internet and no progress or foreseeable resolution, I waived the white flag and restored my computer to Windows 7. Again, the transition was seamless. I left this product installed in my tower and it works flawlessly with my internet working as good as ever. There is obviously something incompatible between my computer and Windows 10 and it manifests itself in the form of a network adapter driver error message. As previously stated, IF you know for certain that you need a new network adapter, this is a great product. However, if you are like me and are thinking that it will resolve connectivity issues after upgrading to Windows 10, don't get your hopes up. Chances are, the network adapter you currently have is just fine and there's some other conflict that is way outside my average knowledge of computer tech.

The picture not the same product sent
The chip works ok but alll the extra capacitors and other items on the card were not there when card was received. The lack of these capacitors and other electronic items I feel puts more work onto the CPU. I am using this item as I write this with Windows 10, so yes it does work. I feel I was sent a cheaper version than that advertised. Pretty disappointed in the lack of truth in advertising on this particular item.

At LEAST place a sticker stating to load Windows 8 drivers.
So far so good. When I first opened the package or course I did not read instructions etc. Hoping on plug a pray with Windows and I guess I should have gotten on both knees. Scuffled through the box for the driver disc and popped it in to see it did not auto load. Then I open and insert again and auto run worked. So now I am a little skeptical about the disc itself. When it finally opens I click on the drivers option and low and behold, there is no option for Windows 10. GREAT the only reason why I got this card in the first place. Oh well I will load the Windows 8 drivers and see if that will get me a step closer. Windows 8 found the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller card (still did not load driver completely) but no HiRO. Tried to manually load the drivers by pointing it at the disc and said, " Driver found for Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller card, but was not able to load the drivers". 15min into this now and no turning back. Booted up my other computer to start looking for drivers, and while I am doing that. I may as well restart to see if I have dumb luck. Computer boots back up and drivers appears to have loaded for the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Turns out it has a Realtek chipset. So you need to load Windows 8 drivers and restart. Good Luck

TRENDnet TEG-PCITXR
Needed a low profile gigabit card for desktop PC. The computer was given to my company by UPS with a thermal label printer. (no one actually buys desktop PC's anymore... towers at the very least). Since we've set it up to run on a LAN with multiple workstations I wanted to speed up the connection to our network. The onboard NIC was only 100Mb/s so I looked for a cheap gigabit NIC to get the job done. This does accomplish that and installing it on windows xp pro was not a problem.here's how it actually shows up as the device:TRENDnet, TEG-PCITXR 32-bit 10/100/1000Mbps PCI ADAPTERevery trendnet product I've used has been great so I can't complain.

GB Ethernet for PC on Windows 7 x64
Just set up my wife's PC on GB Ethernet vs. the Wireless dongle it shipped with. The PC is a Dell Optiplex 360 that did not come with internal card..i.e not on the MB. I looked through others reviews of this and picked this one because of the comments regarding easy set-up.This was literally, plug-and-play. On a Windows 7 Home x64 System - After installing the card, turn on system and Windows immediately recognized the device and installed a BASE driver that allowed me to connect to my home network with NO OTHER configurations or SW installation. The package does include a CD with drivers on it..but you don't need it if you have internet connection.Once I was connected, I went into the device manager to check on the driver version. Windows installed the BASE - that is a 2008 driver...however, all I did was select UPDATE DRIVER from within the device Manager and Windows searched and installed the most recent driver (2011) direct from the internet....no reboot required.NOTE: The device is recognized a a REALTEK NIC (Network Interface Controller) that's because Realtek is the manufacture of the controller chip used in this product. Once again AMAZON ROCKS for providing an Excellent Product at the RIGHT Price Point.

No down time
Ordered it this morning, got it this evening! Practically no down time and didn't have to leave the office. Simple installation. Seems to use RealTeck drivers already included in Win10.

Bought it for a friend and it works. Totally plug and play, didn't even need drivers! Windows 7 Pro x64 saw it right away.

Good, but...
The product works fine, but the original listing showed it was capable of wireless connectivity. It works great as a 1Gbit/s NIC, though.
