Level Up

This book was very enjoyable to read. The quality of writing was high with very few spelling issues (when you flail at someone in an attacking way it is "whaling" not "wailing" - all LitRPG authors seem to get that wrong) and an internally consistent plot that just carries you along.On the downside, it took me just 5 hours to read it all, including the acknowledgements at the end. My kindle died a couple of years ago, and the paperback was expensive by most standards. I find this is true of all Amazon self-published books - the prices are ridiculous compared to normal publishers. A few years ago I bought the first three Awaken Online books and also a trilogy (I forget the name) now from another author with a "proper" publisher. All the books were about the same size, but the type size on the Awaken Online books, and this book, and the margin sizes, were twice that of the other books, meaning that you got less than half the same number of words per page. You also got about 50% more pages - I think the paper was thinner. The Amazon published books were about 50% more expensive. So you pay 150% for about 25% of the content.I blame Amazon.At the end of the day this is a very enjoyable read, but also very expensive for what it is.

Great writing if you're into gaming adventure books.

I really liked it and hope he writes more of this verse. If you want to read another good one check out Ernest Clines Armada.

Level Up is a great read. It is funny and entertaining. For those who are gamers, this a gold!!!

Bought this book for my nephew who is not a big reader at 14. He loved it and has read it multiple times now.
