Dry Read; Supplement It With Hinds Book
I used this book for a graduate-level aerosols class. Like other reviewers, I have to agree that this book is a very dry read. Since this book doesn't cover some material (or covers it in a somewhat technical manner), I recommend also purchasing Aerosol Technology: Properties, Behavior, and Measurement of Airborne Particles by Hinds . I felt that some of the material was presented better by Hinds, but some material in the Hinds book was also better presented by Friedlander (this book). So, get both of them, or see if your library has the Hinds book on its shelves (mine did).

very technical
this book is dry, dry, dry. i bought it for use in a graduate-level class and used it VERY sparingly. i don't recommend it unless you need it for class and/or you love overly technical explanations. think wikipedia science entries.

Great book for aerosol science
This book provides indepth theory on the fundamentals of particle science. It serves as a good text book for a graduate level course on particle science; and also as a good reference book in industry.
