Q: Is this really only 27lbs?

Probably. Overall, I am very pleased with the functionality of this unit; however, a significant negative, is that it takes some "muscle" to raise it. But then, I use it at work, and, the type of monitor that I have is the "all-in-one" type, so it is significantly heavier that the standard monitor. I purchased this due to back issues, and I have to be very creative in getting the desk elevated, without putting stress on my back.

Q: Is this an actual desk or does it go on top of a desk?

It is not actually a desk. It is a desk topper that goes onto your existing desk.

Q: What is the depth measurement front-to-back when fully down?

desk space needed depth is 25 inches. Width, while technically 32.5 inches requires enough space so that you can get your hands on the side to work the adjusting clips.

Q: When the monitor and keyboard are on the desk is it easy to lift and lower? Does is lower completely flat for easy use while sitting?

It's fairly easy to raise and lower the unit - it does take a little getting used to, but it's also easily adjusted to the height you want to use your keyboard at. I have always had my keyboard flat on my desktop - using the adjustable desk only raises that up about a half inch. It actually makes the monitor at a more ergonomically height by using this when seated.
