Hornby delivers!
Well I didn’t think I would like this as much as I do. Not having any experience with this company or brand, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I know that this is a British company and the product is made in China, and the quality and durability is fairly high with the biggest downside being the thin cords and cheaply felt handheld controllers, but regardless they are very responsive. Time will only tell how well they hold up. Mind you, this is a ‘vintage’ toy made modern, and it does deliver. This set is very versatile and can be configured into four different tracks. Set up is straight forward, and the track pieces fit together rather well. I will be ordering additional track because while out the box it’s pretty big, I can see that the more space you can devote, the more fun you will have. Get this for your young son or grandson, or, like I did, get it for both of you. This is Hot Wheels and Electric Football on steroids and beats any video game ever made. Show the young ones how cool old school really is. Great job, Hornby!

So so disappointed!
I was so excited to buy this for my children. I had a very similar set when I was a kid. On day one a wire came loose in one car and it stopped working. I figured I fix it and bought myself a soldering iron. Unfortunately before I got to fixing it, there was another issue. While my son was using it to race the other working car the controller started emitting smoke. I decided the best thing to do was return it and get a refund. I’m really disappointed and won’t be purchasing another set.

Super fun, but not super durable
My boys, ages 8 and 4, totally loved the set. Both had no trouble learning how to drive and operate the controllers. They loved it up until it broke which unfortunately, happened the day after they opened it on Christmas morning. For fun, 5 stars but for durability it deserves perhaps a 1 or 2 at best. The track quality is top notch, very nice materials and build. It was the cars and controllers that weren’t up to par. One controller broke on day one but I was able to fix that ok, one car broke the next day that couldn’t be fixed. The search for a good quality slot car set continues on

easier to assemble when upside down . lap counter is too shiff - will need to be dissasembled and fixed.
