Great hardware for re-doing an old bed frame -- very stable bed now after 25 years of problems.
I am really impressed by these brackets! We have had a a king-sized bed frame for 25 years that we really like, except that the hardware it came with was awful. After re-screwing, replacement, re-supporting, propping up, etc. of the old hardware for 25 years, I finally got these keyhole brackets, figuring that they would not be great, but might work. But what a pleasant surprise. We have used the bed now for 3 months, and it is solid as a rock, no squeaks or wiggles (and I am definitely not a lightweight.) So, the performance has been great, and the installations also was easy, given that it does involve some drilling and screwing. I did follow the instructions, and for $5.00 got one of these self-centering drill bits http://www.lowes.com/pd_486264-56505-DTC-H564_0__?productId=50041540 at Lowes, which just helps get your screws centered. And I did have to take a file and some sandpaper to the studs to get the paint off, as with the paint they are a tight fit (which I think is a good thing - and sandpapering the studs is a 5 minute job). But once installed assembly of the bed was easy.I do have a beef with the cheap screws that Lowes sells, as about 1/3 of them snapped off while screwing them in, and it was not so easy getting them out. In fact, one of the brackets had to be put in with about a 1/8-inch gap between the bed rail and the bedpost because I had to redrill the holes when two of the screws snapped off during insertion. But even with that 1/8 inch gap, the bed is very stable. My only recommendation is to get the self-centering drill bit, but get some better quality screws than I was able to get. This is not an issue with the brackets though, and overall the bed brackets work great though.

Solid product!! Never lets me down.
I’ve use these several times now and they work great. They pull the rails tight to the head and foot board. Strong too.

Satisfaction may depend upon your application
I gave it 3 stars because of our application. For someone else, it may rate a 5 depending on the use. Our queen-size heavy oak headboard, footboard and side rails require brackets made of heavy duty steel construction and a tight interlocking fit when assembled so that no swaying occurs when getting in and out or when rolling over at night. The steel is rated as heavy gauge and appears substantial. However, the brackets have a very slight gap when inter-locked which allows movement/swaying from headboard to footboard. This will loosen the mounting screws in time - it happened with the originals. (Screws are not provided which is not a problem.) They also squeak when the bed shifts but some 3-in-1 oil solved that problem. If you are applying these to a smaller bed or a lighter frame, I think they would be more practical. On the positive side, they were easy to mount and they interlock fairly easy although I did have to use a metal file to remove a bur which prevented a proper fit.

Says what it is
This is exactly what it says it is.I am not sure of why the complaints about it being “too tight”. You want the brackets to be snug so the bed does not shimmy or wobble.I crafted my bed out of reclaimed 2” x 6” (1 12” by 5 1/2") building material. The material is heavy and thick and I wanted brackets that were sturdy enough for the purpose. These are plenty strong enough for the single level twin I built.Pros:Stiff and fairly well made.Tight and firm for a solid connectionCons:These are unforgiving. If your rails and boards aren’t 90 degrees, you will have difficulty getting them to set.Other notes:All in all more than decent enough to get the job done and strong enough I would feel alight putting them on a twin bunk or any sized single level bed.

Good overall - not very easy to assemble
The large part of the keyhole slots could be larger to make it easier to assemble. As it is now, the peg and the slot to receive it are to close in size, so it takes too much maneuvering to get them to line up.

Great price,shipping, and overall product.
The brackets arrived extremely early compared to the estimated date. On top of that, they work great. I used them to refurbish an extremely antique bed that had bad wooden rails on it. I stuck these on the inside corners of the rails, and nobody will ever know they are there. I tested the weight, with 3 adults plus a mattress and box spring, so an estimated 700 pounds, and there is no problem at all. They look thin when you see them, but apparently they're made of quality materials because they have been through a lot so far. These are way better than getting the type that you have to mortise into the wood, all you do with these is screw them in. Totally met my expectations and I would recommend to anyone that has a bed falling apart, or I'm sure there are other uses for these as well (think shelving maybe?).

GREAT! If It Actually Worked
I used these for a bed frame I made. I am fairly light (165). The queen size mattress is ridiculously heavy, and there is no box spring.Pros: 1) They look pretty2) When the poorly welded pins popped out and dropped me to the floor I felt like the $15 for these were roughly equivalent to the cost of a ride at the fair, so I suppose the price point is correct3) I like more "natural" things, so sleeping on the ground because my newly made bed is broken due to these crap brackets gets me closer to my natural stateCons: 1) There are no instructions with these brackets or on the manufacturer's website, and they can fit together in more than 1 way. Thank goodness for other people's brackets and YouTube2) The pin welds blew out on one of the units in less than 1 week, dropping a corner of my bed straight to the floor when sitting up for my alarm clock. Dropping 1 corner ended up ripping the screws out of the other, splitting a stout fir 4x4 post and effectively making it worthless for any other mounting without replacing the post3) It takes a lot of time to deconstruct a bed, cut, sand, stain, and reattach a new 4x4 post4) The emotional scars of buying a product that is not fit for purpose may never healOverall, I would buy these again if it were for someone's bed that I do not like, or maybe for an adrenaline junkie that has never known the rush of a free fall while sleeping.
