Great for my indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, don't have to switch them all off nanually

I have an electric flying insect trap in my conservatory that uses UV light to attract them to their demise. I bought this device to switch it on from dusk to dawn which is a good time to zap the critters. I discovered that it is not actually a simple dusk to dawn switch but, according to the difficult to understand description, it attempts a random? on-off pattern to make potential burgulars and the like that you are at home. So far, after 3 nights, all it has done is switch on at dusk and then off after about 2-3 hours. Not as described, however you look at it, but it does what I want as a couple of hours of light after dark is enough to fry my night flyers so all is OK for me but perhaps not for other purposes and the instructions are inadequqate.

Wanted this dusk to dawn socket to turn my landing lamp on so there was light enough to see my cats at night if anyone needed to use the bathroom.. absolutely useless and turns on and of all day and night randomly.. and the seller does not except returns so I'll be avoiding this seller all together in future.. So I'm stuck with a rubbish item, fit for the bin.. disgraceful there's no accountability for selling items that don't work..

This is an excellent plug

I bought this as a night light to make the top of the stairs safe, but it is useless as it turns off after an hour, then does not come back on until someone turns a light ON or the next night, when it goes dark again :/ I wanted something that comes on at dusk and goes off at dawn and this is not it!
