this is a great bookI purchased it even though my son was a little old for it.he still enjoyed itthis book is a great read and could be introduced in elementary schoolIt was recomended to me on the rick riordan website (the author of percy jackson and the olympians series)this series is great for gettings kids to search for other books on mythology and history"the tales of the greek heroes" was fun as an accompnyment because tit brought further life to the myths and stories being presented for many hours of fun.this book is also a good stand alone book for kidsmakes history and myths fun

My daughter fell in love with the Percy Jackson series a while back and she has been obsessed with Greek Mythology ever since.She has the D'aulaires' Book of Greek Myths, as well, but when I saw this one as part of the Puffin Classics series, I bought this one to see if it had any new stories in it. The illustrations are few but fantastic, and it is a great book for an older set of children. The D'aulaires is good for kids from kindergarten up, but this one requires a more sophisticated reader. If you have a child who reads at or around a 3rd grade level with confidence, they can likely handle this book.My 9 year-old daughter read it cover to cover and loved every page.

There are many tellings of the Greek gods and heroes. This book by Roger Green gets many of the important events and figures. It does concentrate a lot on the heroes from Perseus, Theseus, Jason and chiefly Heracles. For those interested in the Rick Riordan books, this is a nice companion text.

Really cool book, it`s like adventure and stuff and its action packed. Hey, if you like Greek mythology, then I suggest you read these series, Heroes of Olympus, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and The Kane Chronicles. Also, try the books, Son of Sobek, and Staff of Serapis. They`re about modern day teen half-bloods that face the same dangers that the old heroes faced. They are the best books ever. The books are written by Rick Riordan, the best author ever, who helped out making this book.

...told in story form. Almost biblical in language, and that makes it kind of fun. Great background if you're reading Rick Riordan's Greek/Roman books; almost a must-read for that, since he, himself recommends and wrote the forward for this book, which he read growing up and used as the starting point for his mythological accuracy. And yes, kids who are reading about Percy and Jason can understand this book including Perseus and Jason very easily.

Our 9 year old grandson found this good to read and easily understandable. He had an interest in Greek mythology already and wanted a book of his own. This filled that need nicely.

This book is great for young readers or people who don't have the best English but want to know a bit about the classic Greek legends. Great for whetting the appetite for more later. This book is much more approachable than a big thick book about the Greek heroes that would be heavy reading for someone who is not hugely interested.

Keeps you captivated and just the right amount of info. Mythologies can get long and cumbersome. He writes very well.

It gave a lot of information on Greek mythology and gave me a better understanding of it, very helpful and educational.
