Not my cup of tea! I'm calling for Hughie!
Here was me thinking I'm going to give up tampons and pads and use this cup forever, and believing all the ace reviews on here! Oh my what a waste of money this was and its not like its returnable either... So I eagerly tried this and for the first 'empty' all went well. It is a little messy though... However I was mildly impressed and I started to tell my girl friends how good it was and how much money I'd save not buying tampons and how I wouldn't get tts... Then I emptied it before bed (no problem) and went to sleep with it in. First thing in the morning came my third 'empty' and I nearly threw up (sorry) and I am not normally so squeamish but it smelled really bad. Ever smelled gone off meat? I thought that it must be because I'd left it in too long, so I washed it and reinserted and tried again. 3 hours later I went to empty it again and the same smell assaulted me, but just to make sure, I tried again - and alas it happened again! I quickly washed the offending cup and myself and used Ye Olde Faithful Tampon a'la applicator. And when changing them several times that day there was no bad smell at all! Huh?!I went online and researched and found other ladies who had also experienced this gross smell when using these cups. And yet many women are unaffected... It is tres bizarre! So all I could surmise was that the wadding tampons use, absorbs not only the menstrual flow but also any smell, as do pads, but the cup does not.Still, on the positive side, the cup is very good quality, soft silicone and fit well, and I may try it again in the future, as I was so disappointed it did that to me and maybe it was my hormones or something!? I say most things deserve a second chance. Anyway I wouldn't let my review put you off because you might be one of the higher percentage of women who use it problem free, and I'll be so jealous of you lol! Good luck.

WISH I HAD DISCOVERED THE FEMMECUP DECADES AGO
I purchased the Femmecup Menstrual Reusable Cup in October 2012 and use it at home, in the gym and as I'm going about my general business. HOW I LOVE THIS. I WISH I HAD DISCOVERED THE FEMMECUP DECADES AGO.Like so many people, just the thought of using a 'moon cup' seemed yucky, too much trouble and indeed when I enthuse about it to other women their initial reaction (like mine was) is a shudder, but I so love it. So to shatter wrong perceptions I must say that the Femmecup is easy to insert and remove as you merely relax your muscles and tug either on the base of the cup or the extended tube itself. I started smiling ridiculously to myself from the moment I started to use it because I could not believe how accessible it is.It is malleable, very comfortable and forgettable when inserted. I personally did not need to cut the tubing. It is an eye opener with regards to the amount of menstrual flow collected as it is nowhere near as much as I thought within an hour and healthy to see what nature intended. I have a very heavy flow and encountered no problems. I have always used tampons. NO MORE TAMPONS in future so a great saving there. It really is very easy and quick to empty and clean. There is absolutely no cup stain afterwards.I suppose you might be concerned about washing it in public. Simply carry a small plastic portable bottle of water to wash the cup in your cubicle (you can get this in any good drug store - I like to fill mine with an anti-bacterial hypo-allergenic mixed water solution, but just water will do) and refill the small bottle each time for the next use but many good public toilets will have a wash hand basin next to the toilet so the portable bottle often does not need to be used. The pouch for the Femmecup is also handy for storage at the end of the cycle and for storing in the bag for the next use. Highly recommended. One very satisfied user. Femmecup Menstrual Reusable Cup

Amazing
I will never use another useless tampon or towel again! I don't know how I've got to 36 without knowing about this product. I was a bit dubious at first as my first couple of days can be very heavy, so for the first day I wore a pad as an extra protection, I needn't have bothered. My first insertion leaked, so I repositioned and that was it, perfected! I had a very heavy 2 days and nights with total dryness and confidence, washing it out 3 times in the first coup,e of days then not needing to check it until night time once my flow eased. It coped with all flows no problem, not like using a super tampon and finding you have a light day and can't get it out! If you are thinking of this product but don't kow if it's for you.....once you try it you will wonder why you have wasted so many months. Totally hooked.

Where has this been all my life??
After reading many articles on these, I battled with my squemishness and purchased one. I was nervous about using this and wasnt sure if I could deal with the 'emptying' but I was pleasently surprised. It was easy to put in and didnt have any spillages. The first couple of days I emptied these way more than I should have but I was concerned about them filling up and overspilling. My worries were completely unjust and by day 3 I was emptying twice a day as recommened. Only once did I have issues with removal but that was down to me inserting it too high. These sit much lower than a tampon would so please remember this! All other times a simple 'bearing down' if misplaced helps with removal. I did not need to trim the tip of this.I can honestly say I did not 'feel' like i was on my period the entire time of wearing this, I felt cleaner and more hygenic. I did discuss this with my friends and had mixed feedback, one was horrifed at the thought, but was ok using tampons (effectively sticking cotton wool up yourself!) whilst another saw the economic benefit of this and was entruigued.I will without a doubt continue using this for the rest of the time I need to!

plastic is not terribly pliable. Not a very big cup
Very difficult to insert, plastic is not terribly pliable. Not a very big cup, needed emptying every couple of hours. Easy enough to remove.
