Just like the arch support from yesteryear...ouch. It's for your own good.
These just arrived. I replaced a "new" pair of gel insoles with these to see how well they work. They feel just like new shoes used to feel when I was a kid. The arch support is...severe. I expect my arches to hurt for a few days while they get used to these insoles. After that, I suspect my feet will feel fine. The heel support in these is better than the gels. There is almost no toe cushioning in these. Tomorrow I have to be on my feet a lot. It will be a good test of them. Just in case though, I am taking the gels if this gets to be too much.UPDATE: After wearing these for a whole day, my feet are sore and tired. But they hurt in a good way. My arches ache and need a rest, but I made it through the day with these insoles, and I am likely going to continue to use them, and eventually they will feel just fine, and hopefully will make my feet in general hurt less.UPDATE 2: After wearing these two days on, two days off, and three days on, I can say these work very well. The first two days my feet were getting used to the extra arch support, and my feet were tired and sore at the end of each day. After the second set of three days, all the other pains in my feet are gone, and the arches are just tired, not really sore. This is how Orthotics work. Don't worry about these being "too hard"...they're supposed to be. If you get the softer ones, they won't work as well.

Good overall
Easy to size. Comfortable overall. Could be a bit more supportive.

Does the intended job well
I developed plantar fasciitis over the last few years and tried multiple insoles in my various shoes to relieve the pain. These insoles worked well for me in the sneakers I use to walk 5 miles over paved somewhat uneven bike path. I also used them in different shoes to work out at home. They did the job well in both cases and I have no issue recommending them to anyone that is looking for firm arch support and comfort while walking.

Much Better
After discovering I overpronate (and that was a thing and there was a word for it) I found these among best rated for the price. After an adjustment period of a day or two, I now can't live without them. I am in the market for sandals with the same support. When I order my next pair, I will be ordering a size down. That is the only thing I will do differently. I am between a US womens 7 and 8. I feel I had to cut the size I got a little too much.Other than this, I am a heavier woman, with a toddler always on one hip and a lap dog or laptop on the other. I walk an average of 7 miles 3x a week and have hit a record of 10 miles. These are STILL holding up great and I have had them for almost a month.

Flattened in an hour
About me: I just have fallen arches, no other foot problems. My review: At first my feet were so happy! They fit like a glove. Went for a 2 mile walk, but like right away my right heel hurt. They really are not cushioning inserts. By the end of my walk the arch supports had fallen/wasn't as supportive. Tried again tonight, same thing: this time both heels hurt and NO arch support left. My feet HURT now like they haven't in a long time :( Still getting 3-stars because I can return them. Thanks for letting me try them on!!

Worked great for my metatarsal foot pain
I had some metatarsal foot pain which I suspect was due to my lack of arch support. I looked over all the reviews and it seemed like a lot of the insoles were decent, but all had some negative comments. This was in that same lot, but was the least expensive and seemed configurable in that it can be cut to shape, so I gave it a try. It worked great! I actually did not end of having to trim it at all (I wear size 9 shoes) and after wearing them for a week, my pain totally disappeared. The arch support takes a little getting used to, but after a few days, my foot definitely felt less tired too. I've had it for about 2 months now and it's holding up well.

Good support for collapsed ankles!
I have Fallen arches and collapsed ankles, and degenerative disc disease in my back so posture and walking CORRECTLY ARE VITAL TO ME so these orthotics really do work well or I would not be able to stand or walk!!! I’m not able to go for ankle fusion surgery until this fall so these inserts are saving me and I’m able to work on my feet all day Long in a hospital waiting on patients and I’m not far off from being one myself lol!! (with breaks off my feet every so often ) these orthotics took some time to get used to because they support the part of the foot that is collapsed and it does hurt but that does go away causes a little pain at first until you get used to wearing them that’s why I took a star off.. every day when I put them on they still hurt for the first hour but that does go away

Received used insoles - listing is for NEW
After a few weeks of reading good reviews I decided to give these a shot to see if they would help my fallen arches. I was expecting to receive a new pair so I could customize them to fit my own shoes. However, I received a pair that was already cut (my toes hang over the edge of them when I try them on) and covered in small white hairs and stains. The arches have been broken down, you can see cracks in the side.Normally I would just make the best out of the situation but it is not possible in this case. I am extremely disappointed.
