What exclusive reports come with the premium membership bundle? I don't see that clearly laid out.

There are a series of questionnaires that you'll have to fill out, but they're super quick and easy. I filled all of them, over 800 different questions and once you fill them out, you'll get the reports. I'm only going by memory because I'm doing a hard reboot of my phone and don't have the app right now, but I was able to find out about my BRCA-1 and BRCA-2, heart problems, diabetes, gall bladder issues, reproductive issues, brain issues such as migraines and MS. You'll also find out about some genetic issues that you may pass on to your children and various genetic traits. But, it all ties with the questionnaires - answer them all and you'll receive all the reports that are available to date. My advice is to answer them all, it took me about a week give or take, but the more questionnaires you answer, the more information you'll receive. Given that we know nothing about my father's side of the family because he was adopted when he was a toddler, this information is proving invaluable because there are things that we were not aware we should have been watching, such as a higher chance of migraines, which I have and a higher chance at heart attacks and stroke, which my elder brother suffered from both. I'm sorry I can't be more forthcoming with everything that's available, but you'll be doing your entire family an invaluable favor, both now and in the future if you purchase this kit. The peace of mind and being armed with my information has been enormous.

I got my 23and me way back when they were first starting up. My membership has lifetime access which is awesome. I've texted with several cousins that I didn't know existed, and found out I have a fairly rare health condition that was mistaken for COPD. I enjoy having access to everything. You might want to check the 23and me website for prices too.

What percentage of DNA is actually tested and how many times is it tested??

Hello - 23andMe performs genotyping, meaning that we look at specific positions along your genome that are known to differ between individuals. These positions are called SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms). Many of these SNPs are incorporated into our reports. We analyze over 600,000 SNPs across all 23 chromosome pairs including ~3200 SNPs on the mitochondrial DNA and ~2100 SNPs on the Y chromosome. Hope that helps!

Will this test give women results for maternal and paternal genetic ancestry?

Hello - The majority of our tools and features use your autosomal DNA, so both genetically male and female users will receive ancestry information based on DNA they inherit from both their mother and father. The only piece of information that our service does not directly provide for users who are genetically female is the paternal haplogroup assignment, as this is identified using Y-chromosome DNA. Don’t buy from here. It was sent to the UAE where I live and where I bought it from. Then had to be sent back to the US. It didn’t arrive. Now 23&me are saying the replacement kit can only be sent to the US. So this product here is false. Do not buy. It doesn’t work

Cannot get test results from UAE

I ordered product through Amazon and it was delivered in the UAE. Followed the instructions post it and then I received a message since it was delivered in the UAE and I’ve sent the test from the UAE it can not be tested in the USA. Then why sell it outside of the USA

23andMe don't perform genetic test if you courier the kit from UAE

23andMe’s services sold on Amazon but are only available for shipment in the United States. I bought the kit from amazon.ae delivered in Dubai, the complete kit was sent back to 23andMe USA, but they refused to perform genetic test referring to the fact that kit came from outside of US. So full money loss for the kit plus delivery back cost

It shouldn’t be distributed outside USA

Once you buy it it’s impossible to send it back for testing if you are outside of US, even if you have friends live in US, any delivery company will ask you a CDC letter for it otherwise they won’t be able to take it to USA and there’s no way you can get this letter. A total money waste.

Arrived for black friday discount 50% so i decided to try. Spit in a tube close the cap download the app scan the vial barcode to link the sample to your profile number so your name isnt on anything. Place sampe in provided box with provided prepaid lable wait for results on app. And they wont give your dna to ANYONE whatso ever not even the po po

I received my results in a timely manner as promised, I was very satisfied with the results. My ancestry map was accurate to where I was born and the information I was already aware of. I appreciated the health portion of the test and the results and I plan to share it with my doctor at my next visit. I would recommend for accuracy. This came with a year membership but I’m not sure I need that, but if you would like to continue connecting your family tree it could be really helpful. I would recommend 24andMe.
