White Art Tape Medium Tack - Masking Artists Tape for Drafting Art Watercolor Painting Canvas Framing - Acid Free 1/2Inch/ 0.5inch Wide 180FT Long

I use this tape to mark out the stitch count on a piece of needlepoint canvas. I chose it because it will leave no sticky residue after removal. The downside is that the adhesion is a little weak. that's good for paper, but not as good on a piece of canvas that will be handled regularly for many months. That being said, i don't know of a better product for this purpose and I'll gladly continue using this.

This tape has enough tack to keep it in place, but not so much that it tears your artwork when you remove it. Since it is available in several sizes, it is very useful to anyone who wants a border around their watercolor or pastel chalk piece, or charcoal sketch. I've been using 1 inch blue low-tack tape which is expensive. This is an economical alternative.

I bought this for stretching/taping down watercolor paper, and sub-dividing a page into grids for painting. It worked well, is easy to use. My only complaint is that occasionally it does pull the paper up when I remove the tape. I have learned to take the tape piece and stick it to my shirt, then pull off a few times before putting on the paper. This adds a tiny layer of lint and makes the tape less sticky, so that it doesn’t pull off any paper when removing.

The only thing that I’ve noticed is the tape is thinner than other art tape. The good news is that you can see through it enough to line it up with the edge of your paper. It seems to provide a good barrier for watercolor, gouache and pastels. It doesn’t leave any residue and peels off without tearing the paper. What more can you ask for.

Worked out good for making mummies for 4th grade Halloween party craft.

Seems less tacky than medium, otherwise good tape for art.

Easy to use and remove

Really important to have -- one can tape something to a wall with this tape and later remove it with no damage to the wall paint job.

Good dimension, easy stick, gives clean paint edges, but lifted watercolour paper upon removal. Suggest removing some glue by sticking to clean fabric before using - a step I was looking to eliminate.

Used to tape edges of watercolour to art board. Left it on for 24 hrs to let my art dry. Ripped the paper up upon removal. Tried twice with another paper. (Winsor Newton) same fault. Previously used cheap masking tape which never ripped the paper or bled water through. Back to the good old cheap stuff that works.
