That'll do just fine 07 forester X
Love you Amazon, this was an afterthought when replacing the clutch how bad my throwout bearing area was (broken fork will do that). But hey, a few days later and a WHOLE LOT LESS than any local shops, and 1500 miles later we have a winner! Paired with a standard duty Exxedy clutch it is performing fine. I'm not racing it around, but not afraid to give er some beans ya know. Subaru wanted 5+ times the price for just their repair sleeve, no bearing. Just saying, maybe I got lucky, maybe this is another Amazon win? I think so, my not having to take the bus agrees it's good. Again, I'm not racing, and although my Forester is my baby she is not "babied".

Looks good for now…
If you are reading this then you’ve probably experienced some level of frustration. I’m here to feel your pain, my friend. Just know that, especially if it’s a Subaru, or better yet Saab, it’s worth the struggle. This is how we develop love for our MT cars—may they stay road worthy long into the electric era. If only I had remembered my last throwout bearing saga… After diagnosing a clutch release bearing failure (struggle in and of itself) I ordered an OEM Subaru part. I generally try to suck up the pain of the premium price for the benefit of longevity from a better part—when it comes to clutch jobs and timing belt jobs, it’s just not worth skimping. Anyway, I completely forgot about the last time I had to order a clutch release bearing for this ‘10 Impreza that was bought second hand. Do you see where I’m going? This car already had a sleeve repair. Unbeknownst to me, I was confounded by how the “right” inner diameter bearing just would not fit. With a little help from NAPA back then, I was able to figure it out and finish the repair. That well-meaning sales guy sold me the correct bearing at a slight discount since I did not need the sleeve. Fast forward five or six years and I had forgotten about the very existence of that sleeve. Had I installed it OR if I had simply held that sleeve in my hand once I rolled under to stare at the telltale bell housing damage, muscle memory would have prevented future frustration. Long story short, this part is the correct part for most even if you don’t need to use the sleeve—once the first sleeve repair is done, there is no need to remove it. (It’s hard to imagine a Suby MT that wouldn’t benefit from the sleeve upgrade as the original design with unprotected aluminium simply cannot handle the inevitable blown bearing.) Either you’ve already had a sleeve repair like I did OR you will benefit from the added protection from doing a sleeve repair. My only concern is with the durability of this bearing. I have no prior experience with ClutchMax. Mine is installed now and running well. I will update this review if anything fails prematurely. If you are reading this now, so far, so good. Five stars for now. Incidentally, I love that this sleeve has set screws. My existing sleeve doesn’t have set screws and is simply held in by pressure. It withstood a blowout and I cannot think of a better test for sleeve durability so I left it in place. If this car makes it to 300K, I will probably have a collection of extra sleeves! Best of luck to you and your auto endeavours, -The Porsche Fixer

Snout repair kit
Honestly did not end up needing to use it, however believe it would have worked great. 2 set screws to hold sleeve in place is nice, bearing quality appears as good as exedy clutch kit bearing. 5 stars for very quick next day delivery! Saved and labeled the part if needed in the future.

Life saver but fail after 10k miles.
Life saver if you need a next day delivery. Unfortunately for me only lasted 10k miles. I installed it at the beginning of the year 2025 and now December 2025 needed to be replaced. I’m going with a different brand PDM USA. Time will tell.

Good quality and fitted well
I’ve fitted it but I am still half way through my build. I have a Subaru transmission going into a Porsche 356 replica. It was easy to fit, I’m glad I did fit it as the snout on the transmission was scored. At the same time you buy this buy some thrust bearing grease, I only just had enough as the sachet of grease that came with the Exedy clutch was tiny. I’ll update the review after I’ve put a few thousand km’s on the car.
