DMCYarn Kit Top This Metallic Goldfish

I did not make a hat. Instead I made a granny square, attached the giraffe head and made it into a soft Lovie blanket for an Alzheimer's patient. She LOVED it. I have purchased two others and will do the same thing. All the animals are very cute and these work up quickly. Yarn does not split and I totally ripped it out and started over with a different granny square pattern with no problem like cheap yarn. I think the hats would be adorable, too.

Ok I didn’t see a single descrption on the yarn size. I am a novice. I only knit on a loom. I sent a copy of the description to my very experienced knitting mother in law and she said I was on my own. I was nervous but the cuteness of the potential was worth my gamble. I love it! This hat was knitted with the tiny hearts pattern. The pattern is on You Tube. The knit looks like tiny hearts!! The size of the hat is inches high knitted on a 7 inch diameter 31 peg loom. This is sized for a 3-12 month old. As you can see it is adorable and I had left over yarn. The yarn was super soft and stretchy. I am planning on attempting to make a hat for a 6 year old girl next. I will when done post whether it was enough yarn for that project or not.

I bought 5 of these for Christmas presents. And even though it says knitting, I crocheted them using a pattern I found on the DMC website. My siblings love theirs (couldn’t wait till Christmas!). The yarn is very comfy and I absolutely love the fuzzy parts. The colors change well. These contain enough yarn to make a small adult hat (fits a 10 year old well) but I wish it had more to make bigger ones. This would allow room for the kids to grow. They also have a little foam piece that keeps the head upright. And it is SO nice that you can detach the hat for washing. Overall I highly recommend these!

The yarn is super soft and this shipped fast, but while crocheting with it I come across where they tied 2 ends together twice. I also came across where they have knotted a frayed portions of the yarn four times. This can make a project look sloppy or turn out different than planned. I am not crocheting a project that these blemishes can be tucked to the inside so I have had to finish off and restart to keep these blemishes out of my project. After paying almost $9 I expect the skein to be without knots!

I bought this as a quick knit to make my toddler a UGA themed hat for the upcoming football season. I really liked how the yarn flowed into the pattern and the different textures through out. I used DMCs website for the alternate sizes and followed the Child pattern cause my son has a bigger head. However I wish I would of added more rows to the ribbing or something (note the yarn I had leftover). Even though I went for the bigger size for him, the length only comes to half way down his ears. I just wish it was a tad longer. My only other complaints are 1) the football, which had a huge white tag I had to cut off. And it's still slightly visible since the football kind of flop. And 2) the foam piece that goes into the hat was attached to the pattern instructions by sticky glue. It made it difficult to remove cause the foam is... well foam. I was worried it would rip it.Either way it's a fun hat to make and fun for kids. I will probably make more in the future, but will adjust accordingly and try the Adult Small sizing.

This was one of 3 top this animal kits I ordered. This one came with a piece of soft plastic about the size of a half dollar with ribbons, and it went in the inside of the cap top, something for the lion to "sit on". Very cute I enjoyed it a lot. The other 2 kits did not come with that piece of plastic and I miss it. Do you sell them separately? or do you have a suggestion as to what I could use instead? The hats are adorable.Audrey Adler

I loved all of the other "top this" kits, but the pink sparkly yarn on this was very rough and scratchy. I made the hat for an infant and the scratchy yarn (the other two were very smooth and nice) fell right in the position that made contact with the baby's ears and forehead. I am not sure if it was just the ball I got or not. A slight downside to these kits is you don't have much control over the order of the yarn colors.

I bought the green dragon from Michaels, and its cute, loomed up well, but I ordered the cute grey mouse,the yarn doesn't look like it will be enough to knit a hat for a toddler, more a baby size and the foam discis missing. I'm disappointed in this order. Also useful to know, the dragon Is a kit called lit toppers, and the mouse isa kit called top this. I'm tempted to send it back, but it was only $6.00. I might just buy a skein of multi colored pinkyarn and just use the topper, that's how skimpy the yarn that came with the kit is.

This is the fifth Top This kit I have ordered from this seller. The items have been excellent value for money and the two I have knitted up so far have been a breeze to complete. I can’t stress enough what a great seller this is to do business with.

The instructions are for circular needles. Fortunately someone changed it for me to two needles. The plastic support for the topper was missing but it seems OK without it. I did a few extra rows in the main part of the hat as I thought it would be too short otherwise. Expensive for a little hat but cute nonetheless.

Good quality and so fast to knit up.... i made this on smaller needles, than stated, as I am a slack knitter. but am going to make again perhaps using the same needles but the 2nd size.

Very nice hat, my sisters a childminder so always needs hats and this was perfect for the Christmas season. It's really easy to knit and anyone can do it. Only problem I had was reading the instructions to start with as the printing is small, but easily solved by taking a photo on my phone and zooming in.

I made this hat for my 18month granddaughter and she loves it. However I did make it a little longer and it fits very well.
