Excellent product for keeping bags organized
This really is an amazing concept and design for people who cherish organization. I use this in a computer bag to hold all sorts of things in place, which is much preferred to creating a jumbled mess of wires, USB drives, and all the other little items I keep with my laptop. The GRID-IT is very sturdy, as the bands are stretchable fabric with rubberized "liners" to keep things in place. That is, I don't foresee the bands breaking, which would be an issue with purely rubber bands, or something too rigid like plastic. I'm also happy to see that the bands don't seem to have a problem with overstretching, such that they would lose the ability to remain taut. Granted, I have not tried to cause that, but it's nice to see that this was obviously considered already by the manufacturer. The bands are heavy duty enough to handle large and somewhat heavy items as well, as I've got a portable DVD drive strapped in securely. I've got various cords strapped in - power cords, sync cables, etc - of all shapes and sizes, and they are all held in place securely and without issue. And since the GRID-IT is so versatile, you can always change how things are arranged, which is extremely useful, as you never know when you might no longer need a certain component, or maybe you replace something you have, etc.I've used this for roughly six months without any problem at all, and I'm quite impressed with just how well it works. It is solidly made, performs very well, and is endlessly customizable. For those of you that dread cords getting misplaced or ruined, this is absolutely the answer.

Computer Bag Organizer
My computer bag has become overrun with necessary cords, chargers, and auxiliary devices. The bag has a few pockets but all my extra stuff could not be jammed into the pockets. I was searching for a bag insert with a bunch of pockets when a friend told me about Grid-It. This is a rigid insert with a web of horizontal and vertical elastic straps on one side (see photo in my review for our Mac User Group at ). The straps are interwoven so that a wide variety of strap lengths are exposed, providing great flexibility in arranging items. The straps are soft yet sturdy. The product is very well made.Grid-It is made by Cocoon Innovations ([...]) in a wide variety of sizes (some include a pouch to hold a tablet or 11" or 13" computer). They also make many sizes of computer bags. When I sent them an e-mail with a question, I received a very quick reply. I think they are based near New York City but their products are available online and in many stores around the world and several Amazon stores. Do not expect to find every size stocked by every store. Different stores have different prices for the same item. Use the manufacturer web site to see all the choices and then note the code number for what you want. I purchased the largest size model GPS51, 15" x 11". It fits easily into my computer bag for my 17" MacBook Pro. This size would also fit into a case for a 15" notebook. I had to pay full price (which I avoid whenever possible) because the GPS51 model is on back order for several months and only a few merchants have any left in stock.A little ingenuity is required to find the most efficient arrangement for items under the straps. See the manufacturer web site for some ideas. My arrangement is shown in the photo on capmac.org. If the other side of the organizer had various size pockets with snap or Velcro closing flaps, this product would blow the top out of the rating system.

Great for packing those little accessories...
I bought this to help pack and organize my various electronics that would otherwise be in a little pile in my drawer, backpack, etc. The concept is quite neat and it works quite well. I bought another one a couple weeks ago to pack my grooming kit because it worked so well.PROS=====================- Wonderful concept, build quality is great and it holds things together.CONS=====================- I think its a little on the expensive side.- There should be straps on the back as well, just as an option.

Handy for keeping all your small stuff corraled
I use these for travel and at home as cord holders for all of my audio and video cords. I keep buying more. They work quite well and stuff stays where you put it. They are a little spendy, but they are very well constructed. I find the smallest ones a little less handy as it is hard to find enough loops. I like them because when I am looking for a cable or cord I can see them without having to untangle a bunch of cords. When traveling we put all of our charging stuff on them. In the boat, we keep all those loose odds and ends handy and organized. I can think of a lot of other uses for these. I wish they sold them in five or ten packs to cut the cost down a little.

Can't live without it.
I use my Cocoon organizer every day that I work. I am a court reporter and I have a very small bag that I must carry all of my gear. My gear consists of a steno machine, steno-machine stand, laptop, cables, cords, external hard drives, microphones, et cetera. There are a lot of "bits and pieces" that don't fit in my bag in an organized fashion. This organizer makes all of my little gear easily accessible and organized. Also, as I am packing up, when I use my Grid-it Cocoon, everything I own has a place that is organized and has a habitual place in my Cocoon. If I have a missing space in my Cocoon organizer, I know I've left something behind and I know what that missing item is. There are days where I work late and my mind is in a spin due to the day's events. I know because of this organizer that I will not leave my job without my gear because I know where everything belongs and if there's a missing space, uh-oh, I am missing something... I've attached my picture of how I use my Cocoon.
