Essential Oil Soapstone Candle Diffuser - Celtic Knot

It's looks great and works pretty well. Some of the complaints below (e.g., doesn't work well with water and oil can start smoking quickly) could be addressed by understanding that that soapstone is a very porous, soft type of stone. When you add essential oils, be sure to dilute them (otherwise they will burn quickly or be absorbed into the stone quickly). And be sure to dilute them with oil, not water. Use a less fragrant oil like grapeseed or almond oil (or even cooking oil--vegetable, canola, peanut--it doesn't really matter much which kind). This will make them last longer and will avoid the problems others have had with water. Additionally, because this is soapstone, realize that any substance, water or oil or candle wax, is going to be absorbed by the stone at some rate, and this is going to make the stone darker in those spots--but that is part of the beauty of soapstone!I recommend the product if you want a reasonably priced, decorative alternative to an electric oil diffuser.

I very much like the Celtic knot design and the color works fine for me too. The incense burns nicely as well. The down side is that the small tea candles that I buy burn in exces of when the water/incense is spent and then I have a candle that is still burning and my empty receptacle is turning black....not good. So, you have to keep your mindful of the time and receptacles "life", go check your candle and blow it out. Now if you use it only when doing a specific task (i.e. brief therapy session) which runs as long as it takes for the fluid/oil to burn off, then you will be in luck as you can incorporate into your routine blowing out the candle.

I received this product today. My house is pleasantly scented with aroma. I agree that that a carrier oil, such as coconut or almond, is needed in additional to the essential oil that provides the desired scent. The vessel was not cracked, it was the size (small) that I expected, it works well, it was exactly as described. One reviewer said the carving was crude; it did not seem so to me. For the price and purpose, it seems perfect. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the need to use a secondary oil or else watch it carefully was not mentioned on the product page.

This is a VERY small diffuser, so the tea light barely fits into the slot where you should place it. It also makes the stone extremely hot and so oils evaporate quickly. It is approximately 3.5 " as stated, so the seller is not necessarily being deceptive; however, it is also not quite clear how tiny this diffuser is. This is novelty size. You can't just leave it on and let it be, as with better quality, larger varieties. The item is *way* overpriced given the limitations. Although soapstone shouldn't crack, the quality does not let you feel secure enough to leave the room when you're using it. The carving is rather sloppy as well, so it's not really a celtic knot. It's a cheaply made item. I would not buy this again, especially not for the price. Don't love it, don't trust it.

It's gray, no tones of blue like it looks on two different monitors. There were two tiny chips around the rim when it arrived, and after using it one time, there's a hairline crack in the bowl. Not worth the expense and hassle of returning, or I would. Maybe it won't make any difference in being able to use it, long-term. Prompt shipment, though, and it came with sample essential oil and a tea light candle, so I could use it right away.

This product is super small but super cute! It works great and has not cracked! I have used it around 75 times and would buy it again! I always have a carrier oil with my oils to make sure it doesn't run dry and risk a crack...I don't feel this alters it's range of aroma. I have only used little tea candles in it and just let them burn until the candle goes out. I have two small children and keep it out of reach because it is an obvious fire/burn risk. I mainly use it in bathroom for air filtration or to provide a nice aroma for guests.

This is a nicely designed unit, however the cup for holding water/oil had a crack running through it. I notified the company via Amazon and they immediately sent me a new cup. Sadly, this new cup also had a crack running through it. The company was great to work with but the cup failure has been frustrating. I use it, and each time the crack leaks a little more water.

I purchased a similar item earlier this year but upon delivery discovered this item is much smaller and thus the candle flame is much closer to the bottom of the water/oil cup. I've tried several different tea candles and they all make it too hot. The diffuser gets so hot that the water/oil evaporates very quickly. I am concerned about it cracking or causing heat damage to items near it.I've kept it and keep some water/oil nearby to replenish it as it burns off. Nevertheless, sometimes it burns off and just sits there and cooks which doesn't seem safe.It looks nice though. The similar diffuser I bought last year was red and larger and consequently doesn't get so hot. I don't see it listed on Amazon any more.
