I love the nourishing ingredients in the gel buuut it doesn't seem to hold textured hair down esp new growth while trying to stretch my relaxers. I guess it's better if your hair is straight somewht already laying down. I will keep trying it til it's gone because of the ingredients.**I went and reread tye description and it says to use while hair is wet 👀 ..I was using it on dry hair so maybe that is the issue.1st order was opened. Customer service took care of the issue immediately by sending out another jar. I trashed the 1st to be safe.

It's been a struggle for me to find hair products that work for my hair, I was getting so frustrated and wondering if I was ever going to find a gel that works because I was reading so many mixed reviews for Shea Moisture. I decided to just go ahead and get this gel because Shea Moisture, in me and my hairs opinion, is the best and so nourishing. Turns out, yes, my hair loves Shea Moisture and this gel has been a hair saver, it works amazing, and my hair looks so beautiful, it holds great and for the whole day. The gel has the consistency of...well...gel haha! The smell is nice, it's like a tropical smell with a hint of a butter-y scent. I also love that you get a good amount of gel, basically you get a tub, and this really depends on your hair, but I just use a little bit, like probably a golf ball amount or even less, it's really nice and when I run out, I'm 100% buying this again!

I use it for my son’s hair and it styles beautifully! No white residue like other gels. Love that it has a lot of natural ingredients and holds effectively.

I typically enjoy the Shea Moisture line and will stick to their coconut hibiscus gel. This one flakes once it dries.

And I wish I didn’t have to give it one star this is the worse gel ever it doesn’t hold anything what you mean strong hold are you kidding me me. Crap pure crap!!!!!!!

I like this gel, it worked very well on our girls with textured hair. Not too heavy, made with good ingredients compared to other drug-store hair gels. If you want a natural product and have curly, textured hair, this is worth a try.

Got this gel for free from the curl fest in NOLA. IT WAS AMAZING, STRONG HOLD, MOISTURIZING! I had 3 and it lasted two years. I bought it again and it's horrible. Formula changed up...... it's flaky and my hair feels dry.
