I installed the batteries and attempted to use this product it fell far below my expectations. I even purchased new batteries to see if possibly the batteries that came with the product were bad but that was not the case. I immediately attempted to return the item and was told I could not thankfully Amazon being the wonderful company they are did refund my money. This item does not work as described and in no way is comparable to the Nikkon model.

I do acupuncture, various types, but mainly auriculotherapy and I find the Stimplus an absolute must. I prefer it to the diferential detection and usually even to N-VAS which is VAStly time consuming (I use the vas when in doubt). It is superior to all other "treatment pens" out there, accurate, and clear throuh both sound and measuring lighted lines to compare workability of auricular points. Because it provides the option of immediate electrical output pulse - you can treat the point you have just diagnosed "on the spot". I is light and hardy far more then the diferential, thus I take it in my brest pocket for visitin out-patients. but make sure you don't bend the line of the ear-piece; dificult to find another.

I first used this type of device in the early 90s, when I was an outpatient occupational therapist. I soon bought one from the rep who introduced it to our clinic. Once you learn the technique to use the device to locate trigger points (the source of those stubborn/sharp/shooting muscle pains that so often plague us) you can zap them into oblivion! The original device was called Solitens, and after using it for 10 years it broke. I was ecstatic to find the Stimulus Pro online and immediately ordered one. It is just as good as the original. Don't know what we would do without it!

Did not work.

Excellent product. This really helps you find where the acupuncture points are. The little beeps are soft enough to not be unduly irritating, and they guide you right to the points. I find that really I can only consistently get very good reads for points on the face, hands, legs and feet, but that includes a lot of points. Other places like my back I can find the points but not nearly as exactly. That said, I was amazed that my lower back stiffness was greatly reduced by stimulating a few points on my back. I do wish the batteries lasted a bit longer or that your could plug it into the mains. The low-battery light went on after just a couple hours of use. But it is a lot cheaper than an acupuncturist.
