McCormick Hot Shot! Black & Red Pepper Blend, 2.62 oz

This is such a wonderful blend. I found one a few years ago, in Publix. I've had a few since. Just recently (2017), I went to go get more - a few more, since my mother, FIL, SO, and sister each wanted one. I went to four different Publix location, and a handful of other stores - every grocery store I went to. I couldn't find it. Not this new look or the older McCormick look. Finally, I found them on Amazon. I'm so glad I did. Everybody absolutely loves these. It's a great mix of black and red pepper. Most of us put pepper on everything, and some of us pepper the heck out of many things. This is great for just an extra kick or flavor. It's not too spicy at all. My mother cannot handle spice at all, not even less-threatening pepperjack cheese. And she loves this. It gives just enough to be "something different", while still having the pepper properties we all look for. I definitely recommend giving it a try.Update: These are usually about $5-6, and that's very much worth it, in our opinion. Also, we've found that this is a great way to add 'salsa' to things without having to add actual salsa. Eggs, for example - this is a great way to get that spice/flavor without drowning your eggs in chunks or liquid.

I use this on frozen pizzas, its a great flavor with as much heat as you like , peel the toppings off , sprinkle on frozen pizza, right on top of cheese put toppings back on, yum ,Cons: seems to always a limited availability will purchase many next time available

This is one of the best pepper mixes I have ever had. I was introduced to this in a cheese ball recipe back in like 2008. Two blocks of cream cheese, a packet of dry ranch, form it into a ball and roll it in this McCormick pepper mix. It is so delightful.

Excellent mix! This stuff is still a bit over-priced considering, but the blend is complete.. there's a lot of excellent spices in here, and all the traditional. They definitely have all the basics, and then add a few more in most supplyers are hit/miss on. Superb in an array (chili particularly) of recipes.

Clearly if you look at the reviews here and the thousands of similar reviews on other websites, there are lots of fans of this product. Maybe this was a low margin product and the beancounters were looking to save $0.015 cents in expenses. However, keeping cult favorites engenders brand loyalty and discontinuing them kills it. Therefore, you lost at least one customer. From here on out I will go out of my way to buy other brands products and NOT McCormick. Who else is with me?

I use this when I am cooking potatoes for dinner. The only problem I found is that I constantly eat hot things and didn't notice much of a flavor difference in my food. Just reminds me of regular black pepper, but you might get different results.

So sorry McCormick Spice let this one go. My Hamburger has not been the same since I ran out of this great pepper spice. I have been searching every dollar and discount store in hopes of finding the last golden bottle of Hot Shot. Have a heart and bring Hot Shot back for another run and let the Hot Shot fans load up the spice cabinet.

Nice blend of heat and spice. Very versatile. Excellent on eggs, as a taco seasoning, and I recently seasoned steak with it and it was quite savory. I will purchase again.

McCormick Hot Shot ist in Münchener Feinkostläden leider nicht erhältlich - aber für mich unentbehrlich zum Würzen von Tomatensauce und Fleisch.
