Loved it - Very Unique
This book is awesome! It presents the idea that you don't have to choose a single, linear career path and provides ideas to make a varied, personalized career a reality. It is simple, direct, honest, and the advice can be applied to just about anyone, no matter where you fall on the multipotentialite-specialist spectrum. You will not find these ideas in any other career book (that I have read at least), and as a "multipotentialite" college student I found it immensely useful. It is a much more holistic career book that challenges you to decide what you want your lifestyle to look like - how much money do you really need? Would you rather have a varied job or an easy job that allows you to pursue interests on the side?I would recommend this book especially to high school and college students who are trying to decide their next steps in life, but I could see anyone from middle school to retirement enjoying this book. It is a fast, easy read (very unlike most self-help or career books) and I have found myself referencing back to it multiple times over the past few weeks. If you're on the fence, check out Emilie's TED talk to get an idea of what the book will cover - it is also fantastic, but the book is a little more in depth and has activities to help you brainstorm enjoyable career options.

Practical Guide To Life For The Person With Many Interests And Talents
I found this book to be an entertaining and engaging practical guide to living with multiple interests and talents successfully. I've read many books on the subject that were inspiring but didn't really give me useful tools to handle an over-abundance of interests, skills and ideas when most of society is geared towards the narrow specialist. There were immediately actionable items presented that I've already started working on and I feel like they're helping me reach my goals. The author's enthusiasm for her subject is one of the most positive framings of this idea that I've ever seen- after reading her book I don't feel like I have to be apologetic about who I am now, I truly feel that being an enthusiastic generalist is a positive factor in my life. And what I most enjoyed about the book was her repeated suggestions that there are more than one approach or solution to the dilemmas we face as multipotentialites. I'd read at least three books on the subject previously but this was my favorite because the other books presented blueprints for success that I felt were too narrow and fit me somewhat but not perfectly. Ms. Wapnick did an amazing job of providing practical guidance and empathy while making it clear that in real life, every person is an individual and will find a unique path.

Good Read with Good Points
This book was easy to read and straight to the point. It identified different ways of living a life of plurality and how to devote yourself to living a life of variety despite negative feedback from yourself and others. Definitely had some great takeaways, and definitely a book to read more than once.

The author truly understands multipotentialites
If I'm honest with myself, I silently scoffed when I read the title - How to be Everything. And I'm a big fan of the author! But, I gotta say that the book delivers in ways I hadn't expected. I've watched the author's TED talk, I follow her website/blog and I still learned some new things that I found uplifting, validating, and encouraging. The way the author categorizes career paths for multipods was enormously helpful for me. If only I had had this book 30 years ago. The author's work in general, and this book specifically, are a true gift to those of us who feel confused, frustrated, paralyzed by the tsunami of ideas and creative urges that we try to juggle every day. If you're a multipotentialite, this is a great book for your library.

Light introduction, good for teens
This is a nice book but I prefer Barbara Sher's books "Refuse to choose" or "If I could do anything.." or "Wishcraft". This book focuses more on giving you a confidence boost on accepting your multi talents and it focuses on describing the types of ways you could schedule your productivity. But it doesn't go any further than that. I think Barbara Sher's book provided a more complete picture of a mulit potentalite and offered more specific ways on being productive. This book would make a great gift for a high school student or teen who has a lot of interests. But for an adult, I think it needs more content. If you already own books about having lots of interests, I don't think this would provide too much. It's a nice read, its light, its cute, but if you need help, real help, other books can give you a little more specifics.

A Mind Expander
I couldn’t tell you why I picked up this book. I certainly passed on it the first few times I saw it, but so kept coming back to it. I finally got it and...mind blown. I had never heard the world “multipotentialite” before but as soon as she defined it I knew that she was talking about me. The closest I had ever come to defining my skills and interests before was to label myself a generalist. This book has helped me figure out exactly (almost) what I am and how to make some plans to dive into all of the varied and unrelated things I always want to do.For a long time I bought into the silly notion that the world was right. You have to find one thing and stick with it and pay your bills with THAT THING. But it never really, really made sense to me and after reading this book I know that I am not alone in thinking this. I’m glad I finally picked it up. It’s a great beginning guide to helping you reach (all of) your potential(s).

A Lifeline for the Multi-Passionate
“How to Be Everything” is a breath of fresh air in the career guidance genre. It’s tailored for the ‘multipotentialites’ – those of us who have diverse interests and struggle with the idea of choosing just one career path. The author, with great empathy and understanding, dismantles the traditional notion that having one true calling is the only way to lead a fulfilling professional life. The book offers practical advice and strategies for juggling multiple interests without feeling stretched too thin. What I appreciate most is the validation this book provides. It reassures you that it’s okay not to have a single lifelong career and that your varied interests are actually an asset, not a liability. The book is well-organized, filled with real-life examples, and provides actionable tips to construct a fulfilling career that accommodates multiple passions. The writing style is engaging and relatable, making it a pleasant read. This book is a must-read for anyone who feels limited by the conventional career advice of specializing in one area. It opens up a world of possibilities and provides a roadmap for thriving in them. Highly recommended for those who want to embrace their multifaceted nature in their professional journey.

Brilliant - so many ah ha moments all in one book!
I was intrigued having found Emily’s website community but was a bit concerned the book might have a few good points and not much else. Very wrong - it’s full of useful observations, exercises and examples and I genuinely feel I have made bigger strides in understanding myself in an afternoon reading this than in maybe forty years of wondering why I don’t seem to fit! I bought it hoping she might help me work out my next life steps and I have every confidence she will. Highly recommend this book for any Renaissance person plotting their next move. Well done Emily- add talented writer and thinker to your repertoire.
