Great Knitting Reference
This book contains 33 designs for baby afghans with varying styles. The patterns are printed on the left side of the page and a color photograph of the completed project is on the right side of the page. The pattern is printed extra large and the Row number is BOLD in order to be able to quickly find the next row. The book sits relatively flat which is helpful in maintaining the correct page during the project. If one forgot how to make a particular stitch a quick reference is provided in the back of the book. As needed, page numbers are also included within the pattern when a new stitch is introduced. All abbreviations are well defined. The book provides the approx finished size of the project, suggested materials, and gauge. The patterns are beautiful and easy to follow. The skill level is most likely beginner to intermediate, but even an advanced knitter would appreciate these afghans.

Beautiful patterns with great instructions
These are all beautiful patterns with pictures and great instructions. Working on a classic cable pattern and it is beautiful.

Patterns more difficult than I expected.
Though no expert, I have knitted for several years. I found this book frustrating to use -- the "how to " guide in the back is useless. Get Martingale's "A to Z of Knitting"-- great pictures and clear explanations; just sent one to my daughter-in-law. Another quibble -- there is no stitch count at the end of each row. Since some of these patterns are very complicated (to me, at least), I could not just look at a finished row and know I was on the right track. I finally defaulted to some of the simplest patterns (got a lot of raves on my Basket Weave Blanket which is just a simple knit and purl. Am now working on Lullaby which adds one new stitch to the knit and purl; the effect is quite stunning. A lot of people have said very nice things about the work in progress. )On the positive side, the afghans in the book are gorgeous. If you are like me, though, you will do a lot of tearing out and have to take very precise notes to keep track of what you are doing.

Excellent Baby Afghan Book !!
Every single one of the baby afghans in the Leisure Arts book are beautiful ! I am currently working on the "Precious in Pink" baby afghan as a baby shower gift for someone but I'm sure that I will use the book again to create another baby afghan in the future. Thank you for advertising this booklet. It's a gem !!!

Can't wait to start knitting
Bought this book on a whim. Its one of the best baby blanket books I have in my collection - so many pretty items it will be hard to choose which to knit first. I consider this to be a great buy and recommend it.

A lovely range to suit varying knitting abilities.
A lovely range of well designed patterns. Very clearly written. Plenty to choose from and I can’t wait to get started on the blankets for my soon to be born great-grandson and great-nephew.

highly recommended.
Certanly one of the best baby afghan books around. The only drawback is that there are no pattern charts, which do make knitting more delicate patterns easier.
