Very easy to use and accurate (in most cases)
This stud finder is a big step up from a single "wand" type in terms of visualising what's behind plasterboard. No calibration phase; just pick up and use. I found it effective for finding studwork and even the "dots and dabs" used for securing plasterboard against a solid wall. The only time I had trouble was when I didn't believe what it was showing me! There are some surfaces where accuracy will not be good. The instructions make this clear. Some reviewers found the plastic case flimsy, but it's fine - I'll just not be throwing it into a bag of heavy tools. An easy 5* rating.

Great product
Great piece of kit. It is very easy to use and takes the guesswork out of finding studs and electrical cables in the walls. The only improvement I would.like to see to make it five out of five would be for it to identify where exactly the cables are, as far as I can tell it shows you that they are there but doesn't pinpoint their exact location. Having said all that Inlove this little de ice and it makes drilling walls much less stressful.

Much better than other stud finders
Iโve tried a few stud finders before and this one is much better and far more accurate. It detects the full width of the stud rather than just the edges, which makes it much easier to see exactly where to drill.Very simple to use with no complicated calibration, just place it on the wall and move it across. The display lights up clearly when a stud is detected.Overall a very reliable tool and a big upgrade over cheaper stud sensors.

Okish
Not massively impressed by this product, to be honest I've bought 3 different stud finders though amazon and find they're all super sensitive and light up inconsistently though.I kept this third one as:- fed up trying/returning stud finders, accepted the level of precision I was after isn't there for less than ยฃ40- I do think it is worth having one of these- theyre fairly cheap,- does provide additional data/comfort before nailing into walls/floors etc (have nailed a central heating pipe before hence the purchase) but if you want to be precise and get a nail in a tight spot (between 2 close obstacles) this will light up all over the place and not help give you confidence i was hoping to get out of these.- Also when i ran experiments before doing any actual nailing I find it doesn't reliably pick up "deep" items (i.e. 3-5cm away from the scanner surface gave false positives, gave no result etc).It is easy to useNot sure how sturdy it is, put it this way I definitely don't want my kids to get their hands on it in case they drop or fling it, nor do i want it at bottom of my tool box under hammers and wrenches, do think you need to treat with some care

Stud finder very accurate
Absolutely the best bit of kit Iโve bought in the last 12 months. The ability to find the center of a stud is a game changer for me. I love how it lights up green when the center is found, goes that extra bit of confidence. The electrical sensor works great too, but hard to know where exactly the electrical wire is, the sensor just lights up a yellow led shaped like lightning. I am presuming itโs the center of the device it is alerting for. Either way, itโs the best sensor Iโve owned. A++

So much better than traditional stud detectors
I've spent far too much on different stud detectors of the usual design - a screen to pinpoint the centre, and two sensors one at each side. They do their thing, but they never give me much confidence because I don't need to know the centre of the stud, I need to know how wide it is and where there's hollow and where stud. The Franklin does all of that through a row of LEDs, I wish I could show a video. You can see the width of the stud as a row of lit up LEDs along the length of the device, and if there's mains electricity, then the electricity lights light up to warn you. What would I like to see? Depth, and perhaps the depth of the plaster/ drywall. But you can't have everything (at least I don't think anyone has done that?).Absolutely brilliant, and although it's expensive, it's cheaper than buying 4 ordinary ones that end up not doing the job as I've done before this.

A Game Changer for Stud Detection
Using this is a whole new ball game in detecting studs; it's just so much easier than the traditional single-sensor stud detection machines. Electricity wire detection is not quite so accurate; it'll detect the current but trying to pinpoint its exact location is extremely hard. However, you know to avoid the area! The only real downside with unit is not related to its operation but its price. At ยฃ38 is very expensive compared to other stud detectors, however as mentioned, it does have a rather unique operation so maybe that' explains the high price.

Very accurate joist centre and width finder
Actually bought one of these 6 months ago and returned it as wasnโt working. But this one is bang on. Mapped all the ceiling joists in a utility room effortlessly and accurately in minutes. So probably had just a bad unit last time. Something Iโll probably only use once or twice but itโs very accurate and if you need the exact centre and width of joists then itโs probably worth it.

Much better than single sensor stud finder
makes finding the stud fast, easy and accurate. Also the live wire detection has been really helpful in tracing wires behind the wall. This is a huge leap forward compared to my old single sensor stud finder!

Finally a stud finder that works
This stud finder is an absolute must-have! The Franklin Sensors ProSensor stands out with its incredible accuracy, thanks to its advanced multi-sensor technology. It clearly shows the full width of studs, making any mounting task straightforward and precise. A standout feature is the integrated live wire detection, which adds a crucial layer of safety, giving you peace of mind when drilling into walls. It's incredibly user-friendly, automatically adjusting for depth and material, allowing it to scan up to 1.5 inches deep. For anyone tackling home projects, this tool simplifies the job, ensures accuracy, and prioritizes safety. Highly recommended!

Uncannily good: don't waste your money on anything else.
I've had a few studfinders (Stanley, Zircon) and they have been completely useless. So useless, in fact, that I would say it would be more accurate to just throw a dart blindfolded at the drywall and drill there. Every finder I have had has been a mess of beeping, calibrating, false positives, and not knowing whether what you've found is something you should or shouldn't drill into.Maybe I'm just too dumb to use them, and that would be fair enough. What I can say is that I recently had a wall built, and I took the time to photograph and measure where the studs were before the drywalling was installed: none of my existing meters came anywhere close to detecting where the studs actually were.Enter the Franklin Sensors device. No beeps, no calibration, doesn't seem to care if you happen to have a hand resting on the drywalling etc. You stick it on the wall and you turn it on. That's it. I tested it on the new wall that I had built, and it found every stud exactly where I knew it was because I had photos to prove it.I also found that the Franklin was able to detect the metal studs used to hang ceilings from with great accuracy, and that, together with wooden studs in the walls, is all I need. Finally, a real advantage of the Franklin is that it shows the exact thickness of the stud, and you can see where it starts and ends. None of this uncertainty about whether you are finding the start, end or centre of the stud.As I said above, perhaps it's my lack of competence with other units, but this thing just works and that suits me just fine.
