Primitives by Kathy Distressed Wood Slat Sign - 'Let Your Hearth' with Hand-Strung Heart, Wall Art & Desk Decor for Home

I was incredibly disappointed by this product. It has a crack through the lettering in the middle making it unsightly. This is my second purchase of an item from "Primitives by Kathy" and what is most disappointing is that the items are advertised and labeled as being handmade in Lancaster, PA but next to that sticker is a second more generic sticker that says it was made in China. If you look up the Primitives by Kathy website and read their lovely little "Our Story" page, you might be inspired or moved, and then you receive the product which you paid for and realize that their story is probably all a lie. I'm glad that I first paid for and received these two items and found out the truth, because I was ready to splurge on a $30 dollar piece as well. I could appreciate some minor flaws in a handmade item but this was shipped out with a crack straight through the middle. And this item is not eligible for a return, which is why I was motivated to leave this negative review. The second item ("I work hard so my dog can have a better life" table block sign) that I purchased had small flaws around the corners which is more acceptable but does reveal the consistent poor quality of these items. They otherwise are sturdy and nice-looking but I definitely won't be buying any more products from this seller and wouldn't recommend anyone spending more than $10 on an item. There may be nice pictures of the products online but it's not worth the risk of spending $30 just to get a broken and nonreturnable item.

I was extremely disappointed when I began to wrap this up, to give as a gift for my daughter's 8th grade graduation. No sooner had I turned the sign over, the middle board had become dislodged. The ends were stapled, NOT NAILED, to the main frame.I was so disappointed, I didn't know what to do with something that took so long to deliver, and I was expecting to be a cool gift for my girl.Knowing that I don't have enough time to order a "new" one, I just glued it back together. And it now looks even worse - glue dripping down the side.UGH. FRUSTRATING!

I love this - the only reason for just 4 stars is that I am going to have to fill in the tops of the letters on the top row because the stamp I assume they used to print the letters on did not connect with the wood at the very top. No big deal I guess. But I will have to buy some white paint to do it.

This item appears to have been damaged when created (photos included). This item was just delivered and upon opening it I immediately noticed the crack on the bottom right side where when the nails were put in. It seems to have split a piece of the wood (first pic). Then it appears they attempted to reattach it with adhesive (see second pic) and sell it damaged. This is not a high cost item, however, I didn’t pay for a damaged product. I will try to return it as it is noticeable. Quite disappointing because it is otherwise a very nice product and exactly what I had wanted (minus the damage).

We had new cabinets made for our living room and I haven't been able to find things for one of them until this. It is Super cute. Nice thickness to it. Nice for a gift or just for a personal purchase.

I thought I bought this as a prime item, but apparently I didn’t, so I can’t return it. It’s not one block of wood, but instead is a thin piece nailed to a few other thin pieces to give it a bulkier appearance. It’s not even worth $5, in my opinion, and my 7-year old could have made it for even cheaper than that. Be careful to check the return policy before purchasing

This is a lovely piece, perfect for displaying on a shelf. Quality item and very attractive. Well-made. Very pleased with this product!

I love love love this sign and don’t see me taking it off my wall for a very long time;) and everyone that walks in my house immediately starts singing the song;)
