It definitely covers the back and helps to cool the car quicker since it blocks some of the trunk. This isn't air tight, but it does the job for both privacy and a tiny bit of climate control. It's the perfect size for a 2020 Chevy Equinox. I wouldn't place anything on top of it. It was easy to install but I haven't tried to remove it yet. The flap moves back and forth smoothly and is easy to lock into place. The black is evenly distributed, this does not look cheap. I think it will last, but only time will tell.

it does what the lexus version does.....it covers the cargo area from prying eyes. it functions fine (retracts & extends). the only thing it doesn't do is cover the gap between the seatback and the cover. the factory version has little pieces of material that attach to the headrest to hide the gap. I didn't need that version and saved big bucks.
