Beautiful picture
This projector isn’t “true” 4K, but the picture is sharper than my current 1080p projector (at a higher price). The HDR settings are useless to me, as there are maybe 3 settings, they all look “worse” to me than SDR even in a totally dark room, and you must set your HDR selection manually (based on what, who knows) per piece of content. It’s best to think of this projector as a very sharp 1080P projector because that’s what it is.The projector comes with a bag to carry it in, and decent speakers in case you want to use this as a portable projector, as I am. Some details on my setup, in case you want some ideas:1 HDMI audio splitter that “splits” the HDMI signal so that you can use external speakers.2 Roland CM30 powered speakers1 1/8” TRS patch cable running from the HDMI splitter to a CM301 1/4” TR patch cable between the CM30”s1 Lightening to HDMI adapter (and a lightening cable plus wall wart to keep my phone charged)2 short HDMI cables, one to the adapter and one to the projector1 104” portable screen1 30’ extension cord1 powerstrip1 18”X18”X3’ road case that holds everything except the screen and serves as a projector stand. After dark, this setup does just fine outdoors, but it mostly gets setup in grandpa and grandma’s garage to entertain the kiddos.

Acer will try it's hardest not to honor is warranty. Would not buy anything from Acer.
Seemed like a good project. Then white pixels started appearing everywhere. I'm up to 4 dead white pixels now, within 4 months of owning the projector.Acer support, in India, as per usual, has given me the run-around for weeks about cooking a warranty claim. They are trying very hard not to honor their warranty. At this point, I'm just going to put back up my old 1080p projector. The picture is similar and the aren't white pixels everywhere.

Update needed.
This is the third revision to my V7850 Review.I bought mine in October 2017 and the HDR image was poor in dark scenes. Mine came with firmware version 09. I returned it to Acer two weeks ago and they updated it to firmware version 13 and that made a world of difference. I can't really compare it to what else is out there but so far it's at least good and I can live with it.I had to pay $122 shipping, and come up with my own box, thankfully it made the round trip OK.

Customer service
So the UHD port stopped working about 3 months after purchase. I had to pay to have it shipped to get repaired which I wasn't expecting for an item that was under warranty. It's now been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting to get it back. The picture is ok but overall I wish I had gone in a different direction.

Was happy with it until...
Not Recommended ! After a year and half of use this projector developed white dots on the screen which means the DMD chip is failing . This is the most expensive part of the projector, to say I am disappointed is an understatement. The warranty only covers the projector for 1 year, so I am left with a 2500.00 projector that doesn't work.

So Far So Good
Have had this unit for about a year and a half with use 1-7 days per week depending on the weather, activities, etc. Since this whole COVID thing it has been getting MUCH more use.I'll not go over the specs as I'm sure you have seen them by now. That said here's our set-up:Projector is ceiling mounted (upside down)Projector is approximately 11' from the screen120" ScreenDolby 7.1Playing DVDs and watching TV via Apple TV has been great. Picture quality is excellent and images are faithfully represented. HD and 4K movies/videos are clean and sharp (the projector upsamples the 4K signal). There's plenty of brightness in the picture quality. Blacks are pretty good but not 100%. We do not use the integral speaker. All that is fine and no complaints. My biggest gripe is that in order to update the unit, you have to send it back to Acer for firmware upgrades. Uh - it's 2020... there should be a DIY capability to update/upgrade the firmware. To ship and insure the projector is probably $100 or more... plus you're without your device for - what - a week? Two weeks..? That's just silly. Let us go to a website, download the package, dump it on a thumb drive and let us upgrade.
