I was skeptical to buy this because of the price but I've had issues finding a top coat that works well for me so I figured I would give it a try. I will never buy another top coat again in my life! A little bit goes a long way so while the top coat is thick make sure to try to get the thinnest coat on you can because that is all you need. I like using nail stickers so I wanted a top coat that is thick and strong enough to cover it and stay on. If you're questioning buying it, I'm a cheapskate and I will forever buy this top coat because it's worth the money paid for it.

To learn how to do chrome nails, I watched some Youtube videos of reviews, recommendations and comparisons of various no-wipe top coats that could be used with chrome powder to create the chrome mirror-finish. Then I bought a bunch of the top recommended to find out for myself, most listed below. The bottom line: DND is far and away the best for creating the chrome nails. It's also a great top coat for any regular gel nail; it's easy, self-leveling/smoothing, bubble-free, and fool-proof. The one caveat is it is on the thicker side, which depending on the nail, may be exactly what is needed. However, sometimes I want a thinner top coat for different gel nails, then I use a different top coat. DND - goes on smooth without tiny bubble specks, has a great slick-like-teflon feeling surface when cured. Stopping the cure about 15 seconds short is when you would rub on the chrome powder, then put another DND top coat on top of that and do a full cure. To avoid picking up loose powder on the brush, I wipe it off before dipping back into the container. It's tricky to keep the brush pristine when doing chrome nails, you don't want to get chrome powder in the top coat and then end up with shiny sparkles on your other nails that you top coat. Chroma - thick and smooth, probably the second best. It makes sense that they would be good for chrome nails since "Chroma" is their name and clearly what they are dedicated to. If DND wasn't around, I'd definitely use Chroma as my primary top coat for chrome nails. Pretty Diva - even after full cure, was always somewhat of a tacky surface. During application it kind of streaked and separated on the nail surface, I'd have to keep re-brushing to get it uniform and quickly cure it. Kiara Sky - also stays medium tacky rather than slick after curing. When applying the second top coat over the chrome layer, some sparkles of chrome would float up into the top coat, ruining the integrity of the mirror shine. Mia Secret - same issue; sparkles would loosen into the second top coat. OneDor - consistency was much thinner, was quite tricky to find the sweet spot of slightly under-cured to apply the chrome powder, and also because of being thinner it was harder to get it smooth enough. Having a pristine smooth surface without streaks is one of the essentials to creating the mirror effect. As for the actual silver chrome powders I tried (about 10 of the most highly rated), it turned out they were actually all indistinguishable and equal, with the one exception of Pretty Diva, which created a significantly hazy and dull chrome surface compared to all the others.

Wow!!! Bought this because I hate the dip powder top coats. This is amazing, salon quality nails !! Got a cheap LeD/Uv lamp to cure the top coat. Very happy. Make sure you dont get the top coat on cuticles or around the skin because it can burn or feel very hot under lamp- wipe any excess away before outting hand under lamp. I didnt have any issues by following instructions.

As pictured, this product is cured all the way through the entire bottle. this is the first time i’ve even opened it to try and use it on my nails since i received the product on the 4th of this month. It is a repurchase for me after running out however i didn’t purchase previous bottle thru amazon. Well suffice to say it’s absolutely unusable - i was hoping there’d be enough liquid product that i could access to do a single finger in order to burnish some holo powder, buts it’s literally entirely cured. I’ve never had this problem wirh gel products i own because i keep them behind a closed closet-type door in my desk when not in use 100% of the time. I’ve already learned the lesson with 3 gel colors in peak-a-boo color swatch bottles near the start of my home manis… i left them on my desk, caps tightly sealed, for a little more than 2 days because i assumed they’d be fine till i was finished with the mani i had planned a few days from that moment. that little tiny window swatch of the color on the bottle allowed all 3 to cure about 30-50% of the way to completely hardened creating a really thick and difficult to use gel consistency that i believed was now more trouble than it was worth to keep, forcing me to toss the colors in the trash. i only bring that up because this kiara sky no wipe top coat not only has no window to the inside, but has also never been opened by me nor has it even seen daylight excluding the several minutes it may have taken me to transfer it from the delivery package to my gel storage closet in my desk. it’s not only incredibly frustrating but annoyingly inconvenient for me currently because it was my only no wipe top coat and for any nail enthusiasts reading this, you’ll understand the importance of the no wipe top coat when you’re going to be burnishing in holo or mirror powders into your nails - all of which i had painted anticipating wearing a mirror powder on all 10 fingers. now i just have black nails which are still cute but i don’t have the time for nail art today barely have the time for this review but i’m frustrated enough that i’m okay with dealing with any lost time as a result lol.
