Got Windows 8, general home or student PC user? Get this. Don't buy anything else!
I purchased this for my partner as she had invested in a new PC running Windows 8. At the time I thought it looked good value and was an attractive design, although I was not familiar with the brand. It duly arrived in the post and was well packaged. Instructions were clear and logical. Duly set it up, plugged it all in and slipped the driver disc in. All straight forward.Turns out this is an impressive product and works hand in hand with Windows 8 so seamlessly it almost makes me jealous I am still running W7 on my own PC. Very responsive and picture quality is excellent. Looks a very very clever and modern device and is almost attractive enough to be considered a piece of furniture if you wanted to create a modern minimalist work space. As with other reviewers I found I had to adjust the monitor down slightly because I felt the brightness was slightly excessive. The monitor feels solid and well made, and the device itself runs with virtually no-heat output so gives you some confidence it is well made. I would say anyone worried a 23 inch screen might be too large and invade their desk I have found it makes using Windows and word or your browser etc as a daily driver much much more pleasant and functional as you can now truly run with more than one window up at a time (W8 seems to like presenting screens in two halves as well but no doubt more experienced users could make it work a whole lot better).Only downside is that the speakers built into the device, whilst functional, do sound a bit empty and are obviously not up to the specification and sound quality that you might expect from a good pair of headphones or surround sound speakers, but they are perfectly adequate for watching the news or youtube, for example, but the heavy itunes user might be less than enthusiastic about them. Would probably work well for gaming but I'd have to use a proper headset for the sound. I'd be sorely tempted to get a 27 inch version if they made one.

First Impression of HannsG T23" Touchscreen Monitor
This is my initial review of the HT23 monitor having just bought it and set it up. I went for this monitor to use on a Windows 7 two monitor set up that was using 2 Dell 20" monitors. On receipt I was surprised how thin the box was, when the monitor was removed from the packaging it was actually pleasingly slim, fairly weighty and looked like a quality product.I have used my LED TVs to display HDMI resolution 1080 PC pictures before and have never been satisfied with the results, particularly text was very poor. I was therefore fairly convinced that this monitor would give similar results and would be on its way back to Amazon.I simply unplugged the a Dell DVI connection, plugged it into the HT23, connected the monitor power supply, and booted the PC. Windows booted, I changed the settings to make the HT23 the primary monitor. The picture was vibrant and crisp, slightly too bright but really excellent. Sitting next to the other Dell monitor the HT23 was clearly a far better picture. Text was really sharp and surprising for me considering my previous experience of 1080 big screens. Brightness was easy to reduce to around 80% from 100%, other adjustments are made from an onscreen menu system that is operated from switches on the back of the monitor.I then connected the USB cable, Windows loaded some bits and pieces automatically and I rebooted the PC, the touch function then worked a treat. Very easy to use and sensitive to the touch, a very good touch experience indeed. I set windows to work with single tap and it is now just like using a really large tablet.I can use touchscreen/mouse/keyboard/virtual keyboard/touch pad in any combination on the new screen, even my wife who only uses a tablet, was up and running a few seconds and loved the size of the desktop and browser window, commenting how good for online shopping it would be!!So my initial opinion is great picture - graphics and text, great flexibility using various inputs as required. Very pleased with this product and almost surprised how really good this monitor is. When you couple this with the price, it is a winner.I'll update this review if there is any change.Update (after several days)The sound quality from the internal speakers is not up to much, they do not compare to the Dell sound bar quality. Apart from that this is proving to be great monitor.

BRILLIANT VIEWING not so hot sound
After a lot of consideration and product reviewing and searching , i eventually purchased this monitor to complement a recent purchase of a new windows 8.1 base unit . At fist i was a little wary as i had not heard of HANNS G before . Order arrived within a few days , and i had read all the reviews on here and other sites . Monitor came well packaged and was very easy to set up . Attached to base unit using hdmi cable (not supplied) and the supplied usb cable , which is required for using the touchscreen , Very bright monitor with good colours and touchscreen is very responsive . I have found no dead pixels so far and unit came with a 3 year warranty . This is perfect for watching video and online content , Netflix , you tube etc .I watched the football on it the other night and it was picture perfect . Now the reason for 4 stars and not 5 . The built in speakers are for the want of a better word crap !! They are very tinny and the sound from them are just awful . Even on itunes when i tried all different settings with the equalizer , they were still terrible . I can't and wont complain too much as the picture on this is amazing . The screen is a little reflective though and may be a good idea to place it out of direct sunlight . So far though , i love it just a pity about the speakers . For the price though it's brilliant . Other monitors out there without touch screen that are much more expensive . For the money a great buy and comes recomended , just use headphones or plug in external speakers . There is a headphone socket to use . If i could it would actually get 4 1/2 stars , but sound lets it down bigtime .
