Works well -- especially for the price
Better than the Perfect Basic Pushup and the standard Definity chrome push up handles because these HemingWeighs are easy on the hands. After I got over the quirky (and useless) design of having removable handles, it works very well and is well made. I almost returned them as defective, as the handles didn't stay in place, then discovered that you have to rotate the handles a full revolution before they lock into place. I bought the very popular Definity chrome push-up handles here on Amazon but found that the small diameter bar digs into the palms and is painful after a few sets. These HemingWeighs (gotta love the name) have a larger diameter handle and is much more comfortable for the hands. I was going to get the Perfect Push Up Basic but read that the angular handles on those are also painful for the hands. This is a little less expensive, works the same, and is easy on the hands. I also like that they are much lighter and therefore easier to carry with me to the park than the heavier, more expensive Perfect Push-Up Elite.UPDATE: The non-slip surface on the bottom quickly wore out and it is now very slippery (and potentially dangerous) on smooth surfaces. In other words, the handle could move out from under you with all your weight on it when rotating the handles as you push up. Also, the handles are starting to creak and shift a little in the slots of the base, giving them an unstable feeling. Reducing rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. I guess you get what you pay for. So next step is to try the Perfect Push-Up Elite . . . .

Handles dont lock in....
The picture on the box shows that if you slide the side button, the handles can be turned and locked into place. Well, that is not the case with mine. They do not turn. I can use them for push ups, but I dont like the fact that they can slip right out. Cant pick them up from the handle either, which makes it awkward to pick up.

Three Stars
Will order new next time. Ok condition, bars don't fit and stay in groove

Good quality, slides on carpeting
These are bigger and heavier than they pictures or other reviews made me believe. The rotation is smooth, presumably on metal bearings. The handles are solid, with metal cores. They're great for pushups. The only downside is when using them for yoga (to prevent wrist strain): if you're not directly over them, but pushing them sideways or forward a bit (as with "downward dog" position), they tend to slide along the carpet. I'm thinking about putting some rubber on the bottom to grip (there's a little there, but insufficient).

I was very disappointed with that
I purchased these because I was interested in working my upper body. I read some of the other reviews, they said they did not slide on the carpet, mine slide on the carpet. I was very disappointed with that. The bars also do not lock into place. So these now are used for my four years olds weights. So if you are looking for weights so your child can work out with you, this is it!!

Great Price
Can't complain, saved me money, does exactly what I thought it would. I don't get the detachable part. Like others have said before Me, I just don't remove them. Their sturdy, smooth. Just as good as the perfect push-ups I had years ago in My opinion. The perfect push-ups I got for this price years ago in a store, maybe discounted?? All I know is their over priced now, these are fine.

Push up bars with round handles.
I needed a new set of push up bars, since my old perfect push up that I bought in college finally broke.I didn't want to spend too much money on the similar product since now I only need them for when I am traveling, without access to my regular gym.Does exactly what they say on the product description. The bases rotate well, and the handles are round and comfortable with covering.Very easy to carry while traveling, since I can detach the handles from the bases to save some room in my traveling duffle bag.I wouldn't use the base as a figure twister, nor would I use the handles as dumbbells, as the instruction on the packaging box suggests. I also found it more helpful to use a pair of padded workout gloves when using these push up bars.Great product for what I paid.I will update the review in the future as needed., but so far, very satisfied.

This rig is plastic
For the price I didn't expect a lot, but what a piece of junk. They describe it as "detachable Dumbbells".In reality, on this planet, the handle comes off. Not really sure why.The handle weighs about 2 pounds. You can hold between your fingers like a cigarette.(Bumbbell? pleeese).
