Great picture, sound, features and value
After reading limited pro reviews out there including a Which? one giving it 56% I was a little wary of buying the Hisense 43N5700, but decided to take a punt. I'm happy I did as doing a bit of tinkering, taking auto modes off and upping the backlighting, gives a picture I'm happy with and a good sound at low volume. The apps cover all main uk channels and there's future proofing with the addition of Freeview Play which gives ability to catch up on 7 days programming from the tv guide menu. It's day one but I've tested a few hd channels, a couple of blu rays and movies on Amazon Prime and Netflix, and all looks and works great without any hiccups. As someone who is pretty tech savvy I can recommend this without hesitation.

Hisense H55N5700UK is a brilliant TV for the price
I think this is a great TV, particularly at the price I paid of £449.The screen is clear and bright. I've connected games consoles, blu-ray player, and my pc in addition to free-view and sky and they all look grand. Some sources do look grainy as another reviewer has mentioned but these are artifacts in the source (Netflix, Prime etc) not the TV. :-)The built in apps are fine. I've been using Netflix, Prime and google videos through YouTube. Various catch-up TV providers are also available.I've attached a hard disk so I can use the built in planner to record freeview tv. It also uses the HD to allow the pausing of live tv.I do wish it had a 4th HDMI socket and also a scart socket for some of my older devices, but I suppose you can't have it all.If you are looking for a budget TV with great features, this TV is definitely worth considering.

Good TV, not outstanding. Updated to, A total dog.
I find the Hisense to be a reasonable quality TV, the image quality doesn't blow me away, there is no 'POP' to the image that makes you want to watch it for hours on end or make your jaw hit the floor, it's very meh. It's extremely slow to respond and easy to confuse if you change channels to quickly, you have to do things slowly to allow the TV to respond. Hence sadly the software is quite poor. The sound quality is rubbish, but they are all. This TV is an average buy, it's not bad, and far from spectacular, but I wouldn't buy one again as the image quality is average at best even after playing with the settings, it's watchable but I could never get that wow factor from it.***Update April 2018 ***Having owned this TV for over 6 months now I've came back to this review to rate it downwards because the TV is a Turd. HiSense should recall these. The software is slow and unresponsive, it will freeze if you use the remote control too fast.Even worse than that is when watching YouTube or BBC iPlayer the TV will just freeze and the screen will go blank, you have to press theback button and wait for it to restart again. I'm sick of having to constantly switch of this TV from the mains and turn it back on again due to it's constant freezing.Do not buy this TV it's a dog, I'll be sticking to better known brands in the future.

Don't bother with Hisense - rubbish support
Update December 2019.Netflix no longer works on this TV. Hisense are utterly useless for support. It also has an issue where suddenly you turn the TV on and it no longer outputs sound via ARC. The only solution is to power it off at the wall and then power it back on a few seconds later.Having also bought another Hisense for the bedroom, I wouldn't buy another, nor would I particularly recommend anyone else does.******************************************************************************************We have recently had our lounge completely redecorated and although our trusty Samsung 50" plasma was rocking along fine, it had two distinct "issues" if you could call them that: the first is cost of running. A plasma screen is just expensive in the scheme of things compared to LED. The second being that even though we made the move to Sky Q and the ability therefore to have 4K, the TV wasn't capable, being 1080p.So after reading various reviews etc, we opted for the Hisense. On delivery, my wife was a tad concerned due to the sheer size of the box, but there's a a fair amount of (good) packaging.Once installed, apart from the size, one other thing jumps out at you compared to the Samsung - the screen, although slightly reflective, isn't anything like as bad as the Samsung and in our room with four windows, it's much, much better. The setup was easy and quick and one thing I really liked was the fact that, as we don't have a terrerstrial aerial attached, the TV didn't make us waste time searching for channels - it went straight into the network setup.I do like having the Netflix and Amazon buttons and I am going to try to wean the wife and kids slowly away from Sky, simply due to the costs of it.Two things have made me give this four stars rather than five.Firstly, the mains lead supplied isn't really long enough. Given these things will often (like us) be wall mounted, that means the cable has a fair way to travel. This one barely reached through to floor level!Secondly - despite Hisense's claims to the contrary, the sound is rather poor. Now, I was never expecting deep basses etc, but even between channels it can jump from so quiet you cannot hear a thing to blasting out! It is also, as you'd really expect, quite tinny. However, so far, all in all it's a nice piece of kit for the price and the F1 in UHD (4K) was stunning.

Great quality hardware, messy software
The picture is great, very good value for money. Sleek design, fits a modern environment. Couldn't put the stands perfectly into their holes though, nevertheless it seems to be holding steadily. The sound seems boxy, bought 5.1 speakers instead, that really gives a great experience. The menu, or operating system is very bad from a user experience point of view. The design is nice, but it's a 100 times more annoying to use as the Apple TV for example. It's full with rubbish apps, and connectivity with mobile apps is virtually non-existent. I use an Apple TV with it, that does the 'smart TV job' much better. All in all I'd still recommend, but not as a standalone device.
