Simple, good looking and nice to type with!
Having been torn over which wireless keyboard and mouse to buy for a few days, following a breakdown of my current one, I finally settled on the Logitech MK520. There were cheaper options and other brands I'd considered, however now it's arrived I'm really pleased with the choice. Thanks to previous reviewers for helping to make my mind up.I've just un-boxed this unit and there are a few really nice touches... firstly this comes with a USB extender, so if your PC is tucked away somewhere, you can place the receiver somewhere it will get a good signal. Secondly the batteries were already placed in both the Keyboard and mouse, all you had to do was remove a tab and everything was instantly ready to go.On plugging the USB device in, the keyboard and mouse came to life pretty much instantly. Not just for basic keyboard and mouse functions, but all of the feature and special buttons (like the calculator button) just worked instantly with no other software. Both keyboard and mouse are really good looking, better than the pictures would suggest... also both comfortable to use. There is no beaming, blinding red or blue light from the mouse... no light at all. So can be used in a dark room without ruining your film etc.Overall this is just a keyboard and mouse which was easy to set up, nice to use and looks good... that shouldn't be an amazing thing should it? Well given that my last (Microsoft) wireless set was unusable after just a few months, and the wired replacement I bought for that as a stop-gap was awful, kept double typing letters and double clicking the mouse when you only clicked once etc... having a unit which just works is a pretty nice feeling!Happy to recommend if you want a simple and good looking keyboard and mouse; if there are any problems over the long term I'll update to reflect but build quality seems pretty good, one happy customer here.

Both mouse and keyboard work well, providing you have a clear line-of-sight to the unified receiver,...
Bought this despite some negative reviews as I had an inkling as to what was causing them for the other customers; found this to be good quality and having a more expensive look and feel than the price would suggest. When locating the mouse and keyboard, you need to consider that you need to have a clear and short line-of-sight to the unified receiver plugged into the computer; My own experience is that having used the mouse and keyboard around 2 metres from the receiver, it's 100% perfect; speed and accuracy plus no delay on recognising a key had been pressed. As an experiment, I moved the receiver no more than 30 cms to one side, placing it out of direct sight of the keyboard and mouse and, as I expected, the performance became so bad both mouse and keyboard were rendered virtually useless. So, my suggestion would be to invest in a USB extension cable of some sort, to ensure you can place the unified receiver in a suitable place in sight of the keyboard when in use. I appreciate it's supposed to be wireless, but it behaves more like a Infrared remote in my honest opinion. This is not an issue if you are expecting this, but for a true wireless "use anywhere in range", you may want to look elsewhere.Regards

Excellent combo
So I was on the market to buy a decent keyboard and mouse to use daily to work with. My main requirements were that they had to be wireless and would not break the bank. After some researching, I stumbled upon this combo by Logitech. I tried to find as many reviews as possible and eventually took the plunge, and I sure haven't regretted it.These below are some of my considerations:Keyboard:- Nice travel (spacing between keys) and tactile feedback- Silent keys - I am a software developer, and I have a bad habit of going into a typing frenzy when coding, the last thing I want is to annoy all of my colleagues with the racket coming out of my keyboard whilst I am typing!- Nice slew of inbuilt function keys - Only a small caveat, these work great when the keyboard is hooked to a Windows machine, on a Mac unfortunately only the volume and playback shortcut keys work, I haven't been able to set them using Logitech software. As for Ubuntu and other Linux distros I still haven't had the chance of testing the keyboard on them- Comfortable typing position - even after a whole day typing I am still to feel any discomfort when using the keyboard- Handy On/Off switch right on the keyboard face - I am sure everybody hates having to change batteries in the midst of a task- Possibility of flipping the keyboard on its spine - for when you need the desk estate without having to put the keyboard somewhere elseMouse:- Very comfortable to hold - is contoured in rubber so very comfortable to hold- Buttons and scroll wheel have nice feel to them- Shaped to be used both in right and left handed mode- On/Off switch at the bottom to save on battery life- I haven't experienced once lag using this mouse, though I never had the chance to put it through its paces whilst gaming (I use it at work!). Will update the review once I doOther considerations:- The USB receiver included in the box is perfect, small and nearly invisible once connected. Never had a single issue with signal- Pretty much plug and play - I have hooked the receiver both on Mac and Windows machines and never really had to pair or install the Logitech software to start using both the mouse and they keyboard- Included in the box is a USB extension cord (apart from the batteries required by the keyboard and mouse) - I found this to be a great touch, especially for whoever will hook up the combo to a desktop pcThe only niggles I could find on these products are the following:- Function keys do not work on Mac (I am sure this can be fixed by Logitech through their software)- Mouse might go the extra mile with some added buttonsAll in all this is a superb keyboard and mouse combo, if it weren't that they are not sold separately I would warmly recommend them on their own. This product is reasonably priced (I paid mine around 50 Euros) and excellent value for money

Easy to install and ease of use.
The Logitech combination wireless key board and mouse were suggested to me by a friend in the IT business. I am so happy with the K520 combo he suggested. The price was a "steal" and the ease of setup and use is just what I was looking for. Battery life is very acceptable and the contour of the keyboard is a perfect fit for me.Amazon scored another record delivery for me, the next day after I placed the order. I couldn't be more happy overall with everything connected to this purchase.

Poor quality
Hi,I bought this combo, because I was used for a decent quality from Logitech, however I'm very disappointed with this one.Key pressure is strange, typing is not natural and platic is poor quality like for a cheapest piece from China. Not worth the money.

Second one purchased
This is the second one purchased for work. First one lasted for a while, but the keyboard finally went out. Instead of trying to fix it I just went ahead and replaced it.
