Excellent guide to developing eLearning with Articulate
I'll be honest; I love the e-Learning Uncovered series from Alcorn-Ward. Each book is well-organized and provides easy-to-follow steps for almost anything you will encounter in an eLearning development project. You'll also find many, many tips and tricks you can use to get even more out of the particular tool as well as gotchas to watch out for (as good as all the eLearning authoring tools are getting these days, they each still have their quirks). Overall, this book provides an excellent introduction to using Articulate Studio to create eLearning courses. Articulate Studio includes Presenter, Engage, Quizmaker, and Video Encoder.Note that I also have the Patti Shank Articulate book, but view it more as a bookshelf reference. This book is what I recommend to newer users and also pass around to new members of my own development team. It's a very friendly read and I can't think of anything we've needed to know that we haven't found within it.If you're looking for a good book on the topic, you can't go wrong here. I highly recommend it to get going using Articulate to create eLearning. Also, sign up for both Tom Kuhlmann's weekly Rapid e-Learning Blog and the e-Learning Heroes site (both provided by the Articulate company). If you read this book and follow those two sites, you'll do really well with Articulate.

An expensive photocopy: Update
My original "review" (such as it was):I paid full price and got what appears to be a book that was reproduced on a photocopier and then spiral-bound. Thus, be forewarned that you will be reading a muddy black and white copy on incredibly bad paper. Not a happy customer, as I'm at that age where my eyes are going. Will I return it? Well, I'm stuck, because this software product, Articulate, is not common enough to have a lot of coverage in print books (as compared to, say, Flash or PowerPoint, the two technologies it depends on), and I'm under pressure to get up to speed. So, someone at this publisher's house can laugh like Snidely Whiplash at my predicament...Update:I was incorrect about it being spiral-bound--just misremembered that. But the rest was accurate. Much to my surprise and delight, got an email saying the book would be sent again. Yes, the second book I received has the red binding this time and does not have the tell-tale white margins where it seems the pages went through a photocopier of some sort. But now the disappointment: the print isn't much better than the first one. I'm guessing this is a print-on-demand publishing house. My advice to publishers would be to just sell it as an ebook--I would rather have paid this money for that, and gladly, really. But I see no Kindle option. If I am just not seeing it, I'd be happy if someone would point it out to me, because the sad story is I have trouble with eye strain and I can see that I'm not going to use this book--will return if Amazon lets me. From the other reviews I see it must be a useful book, so hoping for an electronic option where the contrast would be the same as the preview here.

Comprehensive overview for beginners
I've been using Articulate for over a year now. This book has helped me to close some gaps I had. The Time Saver, Design and Power tips are indeed very useful. It is a bit unfortunate that there are no colour pictures inside the book.In the next version of this book, I would recommend the writers, who have done a great job, to include some hyper links to presentations of their own.I would recommend this book for people who start using Articulate.Geert

Very useful for Articulate Studio '09
I purchased this along with the longer Patti Shank "Essentials.." book available on Amazon. Both are essential to using Articulate Studio '09 since the downloadable product doesn't come with a useful manual. This book is very informative and clearly written. I have created a number of e-learning tutorials using the information I learned in it. Some other reviews raise an issue about the printing. It is a printed book, but something about the gray-scale used in preparation of the pages can give an impression that perhaps some non-orthodox printing method was used. Nevertheless, it is a very useful book. I am glad I purchased it.

Excellent resource for new or even experienced Artculate Studio users
If you are new to Articulate Studio, you will love this book. It contains step-by-step instructions along with great tips. If you already use Articulate Studio, you will still find good information including timesaver shortcuts and special information for getting more from the software. I consider myself a "power user" - I had some "aha" moments reading the books. You can teach an old dog new tricks! The accompanying website has a good resource page: [...]. The page includes guides for the color schemes and a football game (free) created using Quizmaker.

Pretty good
This book was well organized, easy to read, and had pretty much everything I was looking for. My needs were rudimentary, though.
