Reliable & Versatile
Listerine Total Care has been my go-to mouthwash since 2008, and it's never failed me—not once. What started as a way to freshen breath has grown into something of a daily ritual that I genuinely enjoy. It’s that sharp, clean sensation that tells you everything nasty has been blasted away—like pressure-washing your mouth with confidence. Beyond the routine oral care—gums stronger, teeth whiter, breath fresh—it’s quietly worked its way into so many other parts of my life.My partner swears by it before close moments, and I agree—nothing kills the mood faster than questionable breath. A quick rinse with this and it’s like hitting a reset button: fresh, minty, bold. We've even joked that Listerine should be bottled in travel-size intimacy kits. It simply works, and it’s reliable. There’s no awkward aftertaste, just clean energy. But here’s the more surprising part. Over the years, I’ve found myself reaching for the bottle in unexpected situations—and not just for teeth. For example, a dab of it on a cotton pad can disinfect small cuts or razor nicks when there’s no antiseptic around. It’s brilliant for freshening up during long-haul travel—especially after eating on a plane or spending hours behind a mask. I've also used it to clean my retainers, mouthguards, and even toothbrush heads in a pinch when I forgot my proper cleaner.During colds, I gargle it to ease throat irritation. When I’ve had blocked sinuses, rinsing carefully and letting the vapour coat the throat often helped ease the pressure. I've soaked cotton buds in it to gently disinfect piercings. It works wonders dabbed on a cold sore at the tingle stage—helps it dry out faster. And it’s even saved me during outdoor trips: a quick rinse after eating by a campfire makes a massive difference. It’s come in handy as a backup deodorant (yes, really), as an emergency foot freshener after hikes, and even as a breath refresher before Zoom calls.Soaking dental floss in Listerine before use adds a noticeable boost to its cleansing power. Especially after meals with sticky or fibrous food, this trick makes flossing feel sharper and more effective. It’s not just a minty flavour—it’s as if the floss glides more confidently, leaving less residue behind and giving you that fresh, post-cleaning snap between the teeth. My tongue scraper gets a quick Listerine rinse every evening. It removes any lingering bacteria from the day and gives it that reassuring sterile smell. I’ve tried warm water alone, but Listerine leaves no doubt it’s clean and ready for the next use. Similarly, when my hands reek of garlic after cooking, I’ve learned that a few drops of Listerine rubbed between the fingers and rinsed under water completely neutralises the smell—faster than lemon or vinegar. There was a time I forgot my proper solution while travelling and needed to disinfect my earrings. A quick soak in a capful of Listerine did the job. No irritation, no fuss. I’ve also dabbed it onto a tissue to clean the inside of my toothbrush case after noticing some residue build-up from toothpaste foam. It cuts through grime and smells clean instantly. Before big meetings or video calls, I always do a quick Listerine rinse—part breath-freshener, part confidence booster. But one of my more unconventional uses is wiping down my phone screen with a lightly dampened cloth. It leaves the surface spotless, mint-scented, and free from any face grease or fingerprint streaks. My reusable straw gets a rinse in Listerine when I don’t have time for a full wash—especially useful with smoothies. And lastly, my electric toothbrush charger base, which can get grimy over time, gets an occasional wipe with a Listerine-soaked pad. It not only cleans but leaves it looking and smelling fresh—no more musty gunk at the bottom. It’s an unassuming bottle that solves more than just bad breath. Even my family now keeps a bottle each—my dad swears it helps with gum sensitivity, my sister uses it post-whitening strips to calm her enamel, and my partner, as I said, never misses a rinse before we go out or… stay in. Honestly, Listerine Total Care isn’t a “mouthwash”—it’s an essential. Clean, powerful, dependable—and quietly brilliant beyond its label.

Use before brushing!
This is great mouthwash - I actually use it before brushing so it doesn't rinse out the toothpaste after a brush for maximum freshness! Wouldn't recommend using this before drinking coffee - not the best flavour mix.

Recommended.
On reflection this is the last time I buy a Listerine bottle of anything at all. I am sick to death of its impenetrable bottle opening. The last time took knives (2) and wrench. But never again.
