Can this do horizontal and vertical flipping?

It can rotate the SDI input video 180 degrees - which flips the image both horizontally and vertically - so that you can feed a teleprompter with the mirrored HDMI output. This is a one button push function. You can also flip the unit's lcd monitor image by itself, but that's a separate function.

Can it see an analog signal?

It's not a waveform monitor or a vectorscope, if that's what you're asking. But the eye diagram which it does provide correlates with SDI signal quality. I find it very handy. The tech manuals are on Lumantek's website.

Any test patterns for outputs?

Unfortunately no. Only output is the HD-SDI video you put into it.
