O-rings are too tight to let the unit fully seat.
Issue #1:This does not work in a Ruger SR series. It just doesn't. Don't try to fool with it.Why:The loaded chamber indicator on the SR series interferes with the end cap. It's mechanical interference that isn't going to be overcome without removing the loaded chamber indicator.Issue #2:Why won't this bloody thing turn off? It's supposed to be a laser flash, not a bore scope!Answer:The O-rings included on the unit were blocking the cartridge from fully seating in another pistol. While troubleshooting why the laser was still activating all the time, I started trying different configurations of o-rings. What solved it is pulling the rear o-ring off and leaving the front ring on. This gives enough stability for good accuracy, but lets the cartridge seat as it should in the chamber. The unit now works as expected.Overall:For 20-ish bucks, these are things that don't really bother me as long as it continues to work and stands up over time. To get into a better quality laser cartridge is jump up above a $100 price point. For the value, I'll be quite happy with just having to do 20 minutes of troubleshooting, pull an o-ring off, and driving on.

Another useful tool to help save some money
I purchased this along with some other items. I use the 9mm cartridge and a 22 muzzle-end laser to "target practice" at home. I also am encouraging my wife to use it to get used to getting a good sight picture and good control. The sound and light are visual and audio feedback. The size is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but then again, that makes it a bit more of a challenge. It turns out that it also is fun to use.

Not for 9mm revolver
I've gotten conflicting answers about whether dry fire cartridges will fit in a revolver. It may be that certain brands do. This particular one does not. The cartridge fits snugly in the chamber but the "cap" piece protrudes a 1/4" or so out of the back, blocking the cylinder from closing. The item itself shipped quickly, was packaged neatly and appears to be of good quality. The price is certainly right (especially for someone looking to purchase one for each chamber). Unfortunately, I'll need to try a different design. Hopefully there is something out there for a 9mm revolver.

Great little product! Bought two.
This is a great little product! I enjoyed it so much I bought a second one so that my girlfriend and I can compete against each other in my living room. There are only three small drawbacks. One, it is a very small target, and I think we would both appreciate a larger target that we could put further away. But I am sure a larger target would add to the price tag of this little piece of equipment, so I understand the smaller size. The diameter of the target is one and a quarter inches in diameter, so fairly small for a handgun at long range. 2, I wish we could dim the red and blue LEDs. They are a little bright and affect our aim just a little bit (we both have stigmatisms, so the light flare obscures our sights more than a paper target would.) However, the LED feedback is satisfying when it changes from red to blue. And three, this thing makes a wonderful noise when you hit it 100 times. But it takes a while to hit it 100 times, especially at a long range. I think my girlfriend and I would have a lot more fun if it went off every 10 times, then we could compete first to 10 again and again and again. But these are all very minor complaints on something that functions pretty well for 40 bucks. I highly recommend it. And to the users that complain it doesn't always register a hit, try backing up a few steps. I don't know why, but I have noticed if you are standing too close to the target it has a hard time seeing it. Just back up a little bit. What's the point of practicing if you're going to shoot the target from 5ft away?

Cool Tool!
It is much less hassle to use the laser aiming cartridge with this than the app!

Seems accurate
Seems accurate. Honestly I didn't look at what it came with, so I was extremely surprised and pleased to see 3 sets of batteries and an extra strike button.

Nice product with a nice price!
What I like about this little target set up is...it's so quick and easy! After unboxing it, I was practicing in minutes! The price is unbeatable! I was able to get a .45 and a .38 to go with the 9mm for under $90.00 total! I'm just about covered with all my guns. I was able to start teaching my daughters how to handle a gun without having to go through the hassle of getting them all together to go to the range. You don't have the recoil, but it's still a great teaching tool! My daughters could see instantly why they need to control their trigger finger and why it's important to have a good grip. One thing I hadn't even thought of was, how much fun it is! Now we have a competition going on to see who can hit the most in a row. I'm so glad I bought this, I now know what I'm getting my son and a few others for gifts!

works great! Great value for the money.
This is great value for the money! It may not work with laser targets, but for dry fire practice you can see the impact point and it is pretty accurate.

Great Feedback on Accuracy. Makes Dry Firing Fun.
Have been Dry Firing for a while, but needed to get feedback and improve on my accuracy. Wanted something simple and direct without any expensive apps, programs, etc. This laser/target combo has been an excellent solution. The laser alone provides you with immediate fedback on where your shots land. The target is worth the extra money. It lights up, sounds off, and counts each hit. The hit zone is only 1-1/4 inces in diameter, which was a little frustrating at first. But it forces you to concentate on the fundamentals, getting easier and better with time. We've already fired about 400 shots, without needing to change out the batteries or provided parts.

Comes in a matchbox with no instructions
Normally the large flat side of a battery, like an AAA, fits against the spring. That is the negative pole. There were no instructions here so after trying to assemble this thing a few times I quit and filed for a return. Then I happened to look at the photo on the AZ web page. The battery poles are reversed. Three sets of three batteries are supplied. Negative has the dimple on the battery pack. The device works now on a Bul Armory full size Tomahawk. At 10 yards the laser is nicely centered laterally and vertically if the front sight is slightly below the Bull.So I won't be returning it. The point to these dry fire exercises is to understand how the gun fires in real life and develop muscle memory. This will work fine.

Saving me a lot of money and frustration
Given the price of this item, I'm not surprised that it's not totally accurate. Sometimes I hit it and it doesn't ding. My wife is my spotter so it's not my wishful imagination. What I really like is the amount of time and money it's saving me. This system allows me to self-teach proper technique without having to go to the range and go through countless boxes of ammo, range fees, and above all, frustration. This is a very entry level training system, but for the money, it's already paid for itself several times over. Both my wife and I are glad I got this.

Ok as a bore laser
The way the switch is shaped it stays on constantly in my pistol. The “cap” portion sticks out far enough that the face of the bolt triggers the light.

Works Still: 500 shots
I use this in tandem with a laser target but would easily help just by aiming at small points on the wall. I enjoy adding this to dry fire practice and I find the quality surprising. Would highly recommend so far.

Great product, reasonable price
Bought a laserlyte Trainer Cartridge couple years ago, paid around $90, it finally went out. Found this at much lower price, almost identical design, can't tell the difference in performance. The great thing of this product is that it comes with sets of batteries and with spare gasket and the bottom cap, which is actually a switch. My laserlyte stop working due to too many strikes on the bottom cap. I'm very surprised to see the spare cap in the package. It's a good surprise.
