I bought these for squirrels in my attic as a human way to keep them out til I can figure out where they are coming in at . They have not detoured the squirrels one bit . They are supposed to smell like peppermint and they do not . They smell really bad . I wasted my money .

I live in a rural area which means I experience issues such as having mice in my house, crawl space, garage, and shed no matter how much I try to ward them off each year. BUT this year I was having a horrible time with squirrels (or some type of critters) coming into my garage and chewing up wires in my vehicles. I ordered this because it is safe for pets and children and is non-toxic, which is important for me, since I have several cats which like to go into our garage. The smell is natural and strong, but not overpowering. Ever since putting these in the garage we have not had any more problems with chewed wires. I will definitely continue to recommend this product to anyone I know that needs an all natural way to repel rodents.

The squirrel-discouragers do work. I agree with others who say the pink balls smell like mothballs … my deck is far enough away from my living areas, that the odor does not bother me.

I'm pretty sure these are straight up mothballs based on the intense odor. The scent carried on the breeze and smelled toxic. I hung 3 balls on a plant I was trying to save from being eaten entirely and they did nothing to repel the little critters, who came back repeatedly and devoured the plant despite the "deterrent." Ultimately decided to throw these away because of how bad they smelled and how strong the odor was outside, combined with their failure to deter rodents.

I bought these thinking they would do exactly as they said, drive squirrels away, well my squirrels are still there, they play with it ugh what a waste of money
